Journal ArticleDOI

Pathological changes in pigs experimentally infected with porcine teschovirus.

TL;DR: PTV antigens were observed in the ganglion cells before the appearance of the inflammatory changes 3 days post-inoculation (dpi) and were present in the dorsal root and spinal cord on 9 dpi.
Journal ArticleDOI

Behaviour of fattening pigs fed with liquid feed and dry feed.

TL;DR: Pigs performed equivalent in both systems, but from an animal welfare view it is suggested that liquid feed systems ought to be reserved for systems using alternative feed supplies like whey or other liquid leftovers from the food industry.

Vaccination against Streptococcus suis: Effect on nursery mortality

TL;DR: A field trial was conducted on one group of nursery pigs that were randomly allocated to one of four groups that each received one of the following treatments at weaning: an experimental autogenous vaccine administered intramuscularly, a standard autogeneous vaccine administered IM, a commercial bacterin, administered intraperitoneally, or no vaccine.
Journal ArticleDOI

Genomic and antigenic characterization of porcine epidemic diarrhoea virus strains isolated from South Korea, 2017.

TL;DR: The data indicated that both variant G1b and global epidemic G2b strains were responsible for current PED outbreaks in South Korea, and indicated that PEDVs undergo continuous evolution in the field.
Journal ArticleDOI

Transmission of encephalomyocarditis virus in pigs estimated from field data in Belgium by means of R0.

TL;DR: The low R0 strongly suggests that EMCV is not very effectively transmitted between pigs, and the number of seropositive pigs in a pen and the spread in the compartment suggests that other routes of infection are more important, in this case most likely rodents.
