Behavior of Bored Piles in Two Soil Layers, Sand Overlaying Compressible Clay (Case Study)

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used CPTU with 25.0 m depth and disturbed and undisturbed samples to estimate soil properties and also to estimate bearing capacity of the piles.

Bearing capacity of strip footing resting on dune sands stabilized by grouting with lime-silica fume mix

TL;DR: In this paper, the improvement technique adopted in this study represents an attempt to stabilize the dune sands by grouting the soil by a slurry of lime-silica fume material with water.

The Study on Bore Piles Foundation of the Reinforced Concrete Arch Bridge Beams of Tukad Pekerisan and Tukad Penet

TL;DR: In this paper, the strength and stability of the bore piles foundations of reinforced concrete arch bridge in order to avoid the possible collapse of the banks on the bridge foundation was investigated. But, the results showed that the fractures formed a rectangular pattern and continued down to the layer of soil, and it was feared that the slope will not be strong enough and could collapse.

A Simplified Approach for Estimation of Braced Wall Deflection During Excavation in Soft Clay

TL;DR: In this article, a simplified design approach for estimation of wall deflection where diaphragm wall is assumed as continuous beam is presented, where Earth pressure in the backfill side is taken as load, exerted on the beam and strut load along with earth pressure in cut side represents support of the beam.
