The transfer matrix method applied to steel sheet pile walls

TL;DR: In this article, two subgrade reaction models for the analysis of steel sheet pile walls based on the transfer matrix method are proposed, and the results are compared to a 3D finite element calculation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Trench Cutter Case Histories and Their Possible Application for Offshore Piles as Relieve Drilling

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe four onshore trench cutter case histories in hard geology and show how the trench cutter technology might be a suitable technology for supporting monopile installation in difficult sea beds.
Journal ArticleDOI

On the theory of Brutsaert about elastic wave speeds in unsaturated soils

TL;DR: In this paper, it has been suggested that there was a typing error in the formula for the composite fluid bulk modulus of the partially saturated medium which has been modified accordingly.

Analysis of piled raft foundation using finite element method

TL;DR: In this article, an analysis of piled raft foundation has been carried out by using finite element software ANSYS and it has been concluded that an optimum combination of pile diameter of 0.5 m at the center of the raft with 0.4m at the edges of the planking is giving ultimate load of 4.45 MN with settlement of 26.76 mm which is in acceptable limits.

Strength Improvement of Clay Soil by Using Stone Powder

TL;DR: In this article, the feasibility of using stone powder for improving the engineering properties of clays has been investigated in a comprehensive laboratory study carried out to investigate the feasibility and performance of ground improvement applications.
