Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis of coumarin derivatives with cytotoxic, antibacterial and antifungal activity.

TL;DR: The synthesis and selective biological screening of 7-hydroxy-4-methyl-2H-chromen-2-one and some of their derivatives and their derivatives were carried out and compound 13 was found to be most potent cytotoxic agent.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of silver nanoparticles on marine organisms belonging to different trophic levels

TL;DR: Jellyfish were the most sensitive species, followed by barnacles, sea urchins, green algae, diatoms and brine shrimps, and Ag-NPs exposure can influence different trophic levels within the marine ecosystem.
Journal ArticleDOI

An examination of the medicinal potential of Scaevola spinescens: Toxicity, antibacterial, and antiviral activities.

TL;DR: S. spinescens solvent extracts were tested for antimicrobial activity, antiviral activity and toxicity in vitro as mentioned in this paper, and the methanol extract proved the broadest specificity, inhibiting the growth of 7 of the 14 bacteria tested (50%).
Journal ArticleDOI

Cytotoxicity and antimicrobial activity of goniothalamin isolated from Bryonopsis laciniosa

TL;DR: Goniothalamin showed potent cytotoxicity with LC50 values comparable with the reference standard agent, gallic acid and weak antibacterial and significant antifungal activity against a wide range of gram positive and gram negative bacteria and fungi.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cold hardiness of the fly pupal parasitoid Nasonia vitripennis is enhanced by its host Sarcophaga crassipalpis.

TL;DR: The results demonstrate that several critical features of cold hardiness in the wasp are derived from biochemical and physical attributes of the host.
