Random-Field Instability of the Ordered State of Continuous Symmetry

TLDR
In this article, it was shown that when the order parameter has a continuous symmetry, the ordered state is unstable against an arbitrarily weak random field in less than four dimensions and the borderline dimensionality above which mean-field-theory results hold is six.
Abstract
Phase transitions are considered in systems where the field conjugate to the order parameter is static and random. It is demonstrated that when the order parameter has a continuous symmetry, the ordered state is unstable against an arbitrarily weak random field in less than four dimensions. The borderline dimensionality above which mean-field-theory results hold is six. (auth)

Commensurability Pinning versus Impurity Pinning of One-Dimensional Charge Density Wave

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the competition between commensurability pinning and impurity pinning on the existence of the long range order at absolute zero in the case of weak impurity pins of the one-dimensional charge density wave and showed that near the boundary of the CDW state and CDG state the average of the formation energy of a localized excitation (a soliton) is decreased whereas that of a extended excitation remains essentially unchanged.

On the non-linear susceptibility of amorphous Gd37Al63 spin glass☆

TL;DR: In this article, the authors review the recent d.c. magnetization measurements of spin glasses and their analysis in terms of scaling in field H and in reduced temperature t = (T−T G ) T G where TG represents the transition temperature in zero field.

The evolution of magnetic order in CrFe alloys. III. Ferromagnetism close to the critical concentration

TL;DR: In this article, the results of a series of neutron small-angle scattering measurements on ferromagnetic CrFe alloys close to the critical concentration for ferromagnetism (cF) have been analyzed to yield the concentration and temperature dependence of the magnetic inverse correlation range, kappa 1(c,T).

The Ising model in a random field; supersymmetric surface fluctuations and their implications in three dimensions

TL;DR: In this article, the correlation functions of the random field model in three dimensions were analyzed and the results showed that the correlation function has the same renormalisation properties as the one-dimensional pure Ising model to all orders in Feynman graph perturbation theory.
