Random-Field Instability of the Ordered State of Continuous Symmetry

TLDR
In this article, it was shown that when the order parameter has a continuous symmetry, the ordered state is unstable against an arbitrarily weak random field in less than four dimensions and the borderline dimensionality above which mean-field-theory results hold is six.
Abstract
Phase transitions are considered in systems where the field conjugate to the order parameter is static and random. It is demonstrated that when the order parameter has a continuous symmetry, the ordered state is unstable against an arbitrarily weak random field in less than four dimensions. The borderline dimensionality above which mean-field-theory results hold is six. (auth)

The melting of stable glasses is governed by nucleation-and-growth dynamics

TL;DR: The results suggest that nucleation-and-growth dynamics, as found near ordinary first-order transitions, is also the correct theoretical framework to analyse the melting of ultrastable glasses, and provides a unified understanding of multiple experimental observations.

Disordered driven coupled cavity arrays: Nonequilibrium stochastic mean-field theory

TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the interplay of disorder with pumping and decay in coupled qubit-cavity arrays, the Jaynes-Cummings-Hubbard model, and found that relatively weak disorder can wash out the bistability present in the clean pumped system and moreover the combination of disorder in on-site energies and decay can lead to effective phase disorder.

On the analogues of Szegő's theorem for ergodic operators

TL;DR: In this article, Szegő's theorem on the asymptotic behaviour of the determinants of large Toeplitz matrices is generalized to the class of ergodic operators.

Adaptive multi-GPU Exchange Monte Carlo for the 3D Random Field Ising Model

TL;DR: The work proposes an adaptive multi-GPU approach that dynamically builds a proper temperature set free of exchange bottlenecks, based on mid-point insertions at the temperature gaps where the exchange rate is most compromised.

Magnetic and magnetostrictive properties in amorphous (Tb0.27Dy0.73)(Fe1−xCox)2 films

TL;DR: In this paper, an increase in the 3D magnetic moment due to the enhancement of T-T interactions in substituted (Fe, Co) alloys was found, which leads to stronger exchange energies and then to enhancements of R-sublattice magnetization as well as magnetostriction in these amorphous R(Fe,
