TLDR
In this article, 15 chondrites, including eight carbonaceous chondites, were analyzed for rare earth element abundances by isotope dilution, and the persistence of anomalies in chondritic materials relatively removed from direct condensational processes implies that anomalous components were introduced at a late stage of chondrite formation.

Sedimentology, geochronology and provenance of the Proterozoic Itremo Group, central Madagascar, and implications for pre-Gondwana palaeogeography

TL;DR: The Itremo Group metasediments of the central Madagascar probably represent a passive margin sequence predating Gondwana assembly as mentioned in this paper, and they are well-sorted quartz arenites that contain flat lamination, wave ripples, current ripple cross-lamination, and dune cross bedding.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synkinematic emplacement of granitoids in a Pan-African shear zone in Central Cameroon

TL;DR: The plutonic rocks of the central domain of the North Equatorial fold belt outcrops within the Central Cameroon Shear zone (CCSZ) as discussed by the authors, and are characterized by high Sr, moderate ∑REE concentrations and low Ni and Cr contents.

Petrogenesis of plutonic rocks in a Proterozoic granulite-facies terrane – the Bunger Hills, East Antarctica

TL;DR: Several compositionally varied suites of plutonic rocks (gabbro-quartz monzogabbro, granite, quartz monzodiorite) in the Bunger Hills were emplaced at depths of ∼ 20 km over a relatively short time interval (1170-1150 Ma) during the waning stages of granulite-facies metamorphism, the peak of which occurred ∼ 1190 Ma ago as mentioned in this paper.

Zircon ages of high-grade gneisses in the Eastern Erzgebirge (Central European Variscides)—constraints on origin of the rocks and Precambrian to Ordovician magmatic events in the Variscan foldbelt

TL;DR: In this article, the authors compared geochemical, geochemical and petrological data, and zircon populations as well as isotope and geochronological data for the major gneiss units of the Eastern Erzgebirge region.
Journal ArticleDOI

Geochemistry of Pliocene to Quaternary alkali basalts from the Huri Hills, northern Kenya

TL;DR: In this article, the authors show a continuous change in eruptive style from earlier fissure-type eruptions producing extensive lava flows to later central-type activity, resulting in cinder cones and associated small lava flows.

Synthesis of the Elements in Stars

TL;DR: In this article, a count of the stable and radioactive elements and isotopes is given, and Table I,1 shows that only promethium has not been found in nature, whereas 99 elements are found terrestrially and technetium is found in stars.

Determination of REE, Ba, Fe, Mg, Na and K in carbonaceous and ordinary chondrites

TL;DR: In this paper, the exact determination of REE and Ba abundances in three carbonaceous (Orgueil Cl, Murchison C2 and Allende C3) and seven olivine-bronzite chondrites were carried out by mass spectrometric isotope dilution technique.

A chemical-petrologic classification for the chondritic meteorites.

TL;DR: In this article, a two-dimensional classification grid based on chemical and petrologic subdivisions of chondritic meteorites is proposed, which extends the current chemical subdivisions to account for varying petrolic (implied metamorphic) properties within the primary chemical groups.
