Effect of prestorage short-term Anoxia treatment and modified atmosphere packaging on the physical and chemical changes of green asparagus

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of short-term Anoxia treatment combined with modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) on quality changes during the storage of green asparagus (Asparagus officinalis L.) spears were investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Polarographic Investigations of Vitamin C. III. Reduction Waves of the Condensation Products of Dehydro-L-ascorbic Acid and its Related Compounds with o-Phenylenediamine. Application to the Simultaneous Determination of L-Ascorbic Acid, Dehydro-L-ascorbic Acid and their Related Compounds

TL;DR: In this article, the polarographic behavior of dehydro-L-ascorbic acid (DAA), dehydroreductic acid, DRA, alloxan, mesoxalaldehyde (MOA), and 2,3-diketogulonic acid in acid buffer solutions containing o-phenylenediamine (OPD), has been investigated.

Antioxidants in plasma from mice infected with Plasmodiumvinckei

TL;DR: The late stage of infection of mice with the malarial parasite Plasmodium vinckei was accompanied by significant changes in the content of most antioxidants within plasma, adding to the idea that malarial infection may result in oxidative tissue damage.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of aspirin on blood plasma levels of testosterone, LH and FSH in maturing male rats.

TL;DR: While aspirin administration for 8 days caused an increase in the plasma testosteone level with decrease in both LH and FSH levels, prolonged treatment for 15 days and more produced a reverse effect, viz. decrease in plasma testosterone and increase in plasma LH andFSH levels.

Low temperature storage maintains postharvest quality of cabbage (Brassica oleraceae var. capitata L.) in supply chain

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors simulated the conditions at the collection center and determined the effects of low temperature storage on cabbage quality and found that cabbage can be stored successfully at 4 o C for 18 days and 12 days at 10 o C. At ambient, cabbage deteriorated rapidly and lasted only 4 days.
