Prevalence of ventricular diastolic dysfunction in asymptomatic, normotensive patients with diabetes mellitus.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used tissue Doppler imaging (TDI) and color M-mode echocardiography to detect diastolic dysfunction in asymptomatic, normotensive patients with type 2 diabetes without significant coronary artery disease.
Journal ArticleDOI

Improvement in Blood Pressure, Arterial Stiffness and Wave Reflections With a Very-Low-Dose Perindopril/Indapamide Combination in Hypertensive Patient: A Comparison With Atenolol

TL;DR: The very-low-dose combination Per/Ind normalizes SBP, PP, and arterial function to a significantly larger extent than does atenolol, a hemodynamic profile that is known to improve survival in hypertensive populations with high cardiovascular risk.
Journal ArticleDOI

Primary Aldosteronism and Hypertensive Disease

TL;DR: A high frequency of PA is found in essential hypertensives classified in stages 2 and 3 according to the JNC VI, and the low frequency of computed tomography scan abnormalities and hypokalemia suggests that the diagnosis for most PA patients corresponds to attenuated forms of the disease.
