Transcription factor Nrf2 activation by deltamethrin in PC12 cells: Involvement of ROS.

TLDR
Examination of the effects of deltamethrin on the activation and expression of Nrf2 in PC12 rat adrenal pheochromocytoma cells as a dopaminergic cell model shows that DM increases NRF2 expression and activity and that ROS is one of the mediators of this process.

Overexpression of HO-1 Protects against TNF-α-Mediated Airway Inflammation by Down-Regulation of TNFR1-Dependent Oxidative Stress

TL;DR: Results suggest that HO-1 functions as a suppressor of TNF-alpha signaling, not only by inhibiting the expression of adhesion molecules and generation of interleukin-6, but also by diminishing intracellular reactive oxygen species production and nuclear factor-kappaB activation in both cultured human tracheal smooth muscle cells and the airways of mice.

Lipoteichoic acid induces HO-1 expression via the TLR2/MyD88/c-Src/NADPH oxidase pathway and Nrf2 in human tracheal smooth muscle cells.

TL;DR: Results demonstrated that LTA-induced ROS generation was mediated through the TLR2/MyD88/TRAF6/c-Src/NADPH oxidase pathway, in turn initiates the activation of Nrf2, and ultimately induces HO-1 expression in HTSMCs.

Nrf2 Signaling, a Mechanism for Cellular Stress Resistance in Long-Lived Mice

TL;DR: Augmented activity of Nrf2 and ARE-responsive genes may coordinate many of the stress resistance traits seen in cells from these long-lived mutant mice.

Deltamethrin toxicity: A review of oxidative stress and metabolism.

TL;DR: This review systematically summarizes the deltamethrin toxicity mechanism from the perspective of oxidative stress, including deltAMethrin‐mediated oxidative damage, antioxidant status, oxidative signaling pathways and modulatory effects of antagonists, synergists and placebos on oxidative stress.

Keap1 represses nuclear activation of antioxidant responsive elements by Nrf2 through binding to the amino-terminal Neh2 domain

TL;DR: It is postulate that Keap1 and Nrf2 constitute a crucial cellular sensor for oxidative stress, and together mediate a key step in the signaling pathway that leads to transcriptional activation by this novel NRF2 nuclear shuttling mechanism.

The antioxidant responsive element. Activation by oxidative stress and identification of the DNA consensus sequence required for functional activity.

TL;DR: The data suggest that the sequence, 5'-puGTGACNNNGC-3' 3'-pyCACTGNNNCG-5' where N is any nucleotide, represents the core sequence of the ARE required for transcriptional activation by phenolic antioxidants and metabolizable planar aromatic compounds.

Transcription Factor Nrf2 Coordinately Regulates a Group of Oxidative Stress-inducible Genes in Macrophages

TL;DR: It is shown that Nrf2 controls the expression of a group of electrophile- and oxidative stress-inducible proteins and activities, which includes heme oxygenase-1, A170, peroxiredoxin MSP23, and cystine membrane transport (system xc −) activity.
