Journal ArticleDOI
The effectiveness of healthy meals at work on reaction time, mood and dietary intake: a randomised cross-over study in daytime and shift workers at an university hospital.
TL;DR: Providing healthy meals, snacks and water during working hours seems to be an effective way of improving employees’ dietary intake, and increased intake of water may be associated with beneficial effects on fatigue, vigour and total mood in shift-working healthcare staff.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of different protein content and glycaemic index of ad libitum diets on diabetes risk factors in overweight adults: the DIOGenes multicentre, randomized, dietary intervention trial.
Estibaliz Goyenechea,Claus Holst,Marleen A. van Baak,Wim H. M. Saris,Susan A. Jebb,Anthony Kafatos,Andreas Pfeiffer,Svetoslav Handjiev,Petr Hlavaty,Steen Stender,Thomas Larsen,Arne Astrup,J. Alfredo Martínez +12 more
TL;DR: Dietary regimens providing different levels of protein and glycemic index (GI) foods when prescribed for weight management may also influence insulin sensitivity.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Environmental Foodprint of Obesity
Faidon Magkos,Inge Tetens,Susanne Bügel,Claus Felby,Simon Rønnow Schacht,James O. Hill,Eric Ravussin,Arne Astrup +7 more
TL;DR: Obesity is an important contributor to global GHG burden and strategies to reduce its prevalence should prioritize efforts to reduce GHG emissions, which may have considerable benefits for both public health and the environment.
Journal ArticleDOI
Weight loss decreases self-reported appetite and alters food preferences in overweight and obese adults: Observational data from the DiOGenes study.
Charlotte Andriessen,Charlotte Andriessen,Pia Christensen,Lone V. Nielsen,Christian Ritz,Arne Astrup,Thomas Meinert Larsen,J. Alfredo Martínez,Wim H. M. Saris,Marleen A. van Baak,Angeliki Papadaki,Marie Kunešová,Susan A. Jebb,John E. Blundell,Clare L. Lawton,Anne Raben +15 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that LCD induced weight loss decreases the appetite perceptions of overweight volunteers whilst decreasing their preference for high-fat-, high-carbohydrate-, and low-energy products.
Journal ArticleDOI
No effect of inhibition of insulin secretion by diazoxide on weight loss in hyperinsulinaemic obese subjects during an 8‐week weight‐loss diet
TL;DR: The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of inhibition of insulin secretion by diazoxide on weight loss in obese, normoglycaemic, hyperinsulinaemic adults during a 2.5 MJ/day energy‐deficient diet.
