Common non-synonymous SNPs associated with breast cancer susceptibility: findings from the Breast Cancer Association Consortium

Roger L. Milne, +190 more
TL;DR: A novel susceptibility locus at 3p21 is identified, and previous suggestive evidence that rs6964587 at 7q21 is associated with risk is confirmed, and further fine-mapping and functional studies are required to identify the underlying risk-modifying variants and the genes through which they act.
Posted ContentDOI

Viral Architecture of SARS-CoV-2 with Post-Fusion Spike Revealed by Cryo-EM

TL;DR: The morphology of virion observed in the result indicates that the S protein of SARS-CoV-2 is in post-fusion state, with S1 disassociated, which could provide an important information for the identification and relevant clinical research of this new coronavirus.
Journal ArticleDOI

Abnormality of the DNA double-strand-break checkpoint/repair genes, ATM, BRCA1 and TP53 , in breast cancer is related to tumour grade

TL;DR: It is suggested that combined changes in several DSB checkpoint/repair genes belonging to a common functional pathway are associated with breast cancer pathogenesis.
Journal ArticleDOI

Genetic variants of BLM interact with RAD51 to increase breast cancer susceptibility

TL;DR: A contribution of BLM and RAD51 to breast cancer development is suggested and support for the tumorigenic significance of the functional interaction between these two HR proteins is provided.
