Probing Extreme Electromagnetic Fields with the Breit-Wheeler Process

Jaroslav Adam, +354 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the Breit-Wheeler process was shown to produce electron-positron pairs at low transverse momentum with a smooth invariant mass distribution, with the individual photons preferentially aligned along the beam direction, and with a 4th-order modulation in azimuth between the electron-positional pairs and momenta.
Journal ArticleDOI

System-size dependence of particle-ratio fluctuations in Pb + Pb collisions at 158A GeV

T. Antičić, +73 more
- 01 Feb 2013 -
TL;DR: In this paper, the NA49 experiment was used to measure the centrality dependence of event-by-event fluctuations of the particle yield ratios, and the absolute values of the dynamical fluctuations of these ratios, quantified by the measure of the measure, were shown to increase by about a factor of two from central to semiperipheral collisions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Azimuthal correlations of prompt D mesons with charged particles in pp and p–Pb collisions at √sNN=5.02TeV

Shreyasi Acharya, +1020 more
TL;DR: In this article, the azimuthal-correlation function of prompt D mesons with charged particles in pp collisions at the ALICE detector at the LHC was measured at midrapidity in the transverse momentum interval.
Journal ArticleDOI

Probing strangeness canonical ensemble with K−, ϕ(1020) and Ξ− production in Au+Au collisions at sNN</mml:mro

M. S. Abdallah, +381 more
- 01 May 2022 -
TL;DR: In this paper , the first multi-differential measurements of strange hadrons of $K^{-}, $K^+K^-$ yields as well as the ratios of $\phi/K^$ and $Xi^-$ in Au+Au collisions with the STAR experiment at RHIC were reported.
Journal ArticleDOI

Constraining the initial conditions and temperature dependent viscosity with three-particle correlations in Au+Au collisions

L. Adamczyk, +342 more
- 10 Mar 2019 -
TL;DR: In this paper, three-particle mixed-harmonic correlations were investigated for the first, second and third harmonics predicted as a consequence of fluctuations in the initial state at RHIC and the dependence of the correlations on the pseudorapidity separation between particles showed hints of a breaking of longitudinal invariance.
