Galaxy and mass assembly (GAMA): The consistency of GAMA and WISE derived mass-to-light ratios

TL;DR: In this paper, the spectral energy distribution (SED) model was used to estimate the mass to light ratios of stellar populations and hence the stellar masses of galaxies, and the SED derived masses for a carefully selected sample of low redshift galaxies were compared with the prediction from stellar population synthesis models that $M_*/L ǫ = 0.15$ for all such galaxies, independent of other stellar population parameters.
Journal ArticleDOI

The CALIFA view on stellar angular momentum across the Hubble sequence

TL;DR: In this paper, the apparent stellar angular momentum of 300 galaxies across the Hubble sequence, using integral-field spectroscopic data from the CALIFA survey, was measured in different apertures.
Journal ArticleDOI

In search of cool flow accretion onto galaxies $-$ where does the disk gas end?

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that a clumpy outer disk of dense clouds or cloudlets is potentially detectable to much larger radii and lower HI column densities than previously discussed.
