TL;DR: In this article, a collaborative GWAS involving 9,772 cases of European descent collected by 23 research groups working in 15 different countries, they have replicated almost all of the previously suggested associations and identified at least a further 29 novel susceptibility loci.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cutting Edge: TREM-2 Attenuates Macrophage Activation

TL;DR: It is shown that TREM-2 is expressed on newly differentiated and alternatively activated macrophages and functions to restrain macrophage activation and completely accounts for the increased cytokine production previously reported by DAP12−/−macrophages.
Journal ArticleDOI

Chemokines trigger immediate beta2 integrin affinity and mobility changes: differential regulation and roles in lymphocyte arrest under flow.

TL;DR: It is shown that the chemokines SLC, ELC, and SDF-1alpha rapidly induce lateral mobility and transient increase of affinity of the beta2 integrin LFA-1 that can coordinately determine the vascular arrest of circulating lymphocytes under physiologic conditions.
