Characterization of homogeneous and pseudocomposite homopolymers and copolymers for articular cartilage replacement.

TL;DR: New articular cartilage simulants in the form of hydrogels with surface hydroxyl groups have been developed and characterized, describing by high elastic moduli, ultimate tensile strength and elongation at break, low tear propagation resistance and excellent friction properties.

Evidence of unequal vinyl group reactivity in copolymerization/crosslinking reactions of mono- and divinyl comonomers

TL;DR: In this paper, a kinetic model was developed for the copolymerization/cross-linking reaction of a monovinyl and a divinyl monomer, which incorporates initiation, propagation, chain transfer and termination reactions.
