Atomic Contributions to the Optical Rotation Angle as a Quantitative Probe of Molecular Chirality

TL;DR: This approach links chemical structure with optical rotation angle and provides a quantitative measure of molecular asymmetry propagation from a center, axis, or plane of chirality.
Journal ArticleDOI

Formal total synthesis of (+)-diepoxin sigma.

TL;DR: In this paper, a chiral binaphthol ligand was developed for a boron-mediated Diels-Alder reaction that constitutes a formal asymmetric total synthesis of (+)-diepoxin sigma.
Journal ArticleDOI

The chiroptical signature of achiral metal clusters induced by dissymmetric adsorbates.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that the induced optical activity of chiral monolayer protected clusters, such as Whetten's Au28(SG)16 glutathione-passivated gold nanoclusters, could arise from symmetric metal cores perturbed by a dissymmetric or chiral field originating from the adsorbates.
