Journal ArticleDOI
Interactions between neuroticism and stressful life events predict response to pharmacotherapy for major depression: A CAN-BIND 1 report.
Timothy A. Allen,Kate L. Harkness,Raymond W. Lam,Roumen Milev,Benicio N. Frey,Benicio N. Frey,Daniel J. Mueller,Daniel J. Mueller,Rudolf Uher,Sidney H. Kennedy,Sidney H. Kennedy,Sidney H. Kennedy,Lena C. Quilty,Lena C. Quilty +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined whether stressful life events experienced prior to and during treatment interact with neuroticism to predict response to 16-week pharmacotherapy for major depressive disorder (MDD).
Journal ArticleDOI
Rating Short-Term Psychodynamic Therapy for the Canadian Network for Mood and Anxiety Treatments Depression Guidelines: Key Considerations
Sagar V. Parikh,Sagar V. Parikh,Lena C. Quilty,Paula Ravitz,Michael Rosenbluth,Barbara Pavlova,Sophie Grigoriadis,Vytas Velyvis,Rudolf Uher,Sidney H. Kennedy,Raymond W. Lam,Glenda MacQueen,Roumen Milev,Arun V. Ravindran +13 more
TL;DR: The second-line treatment recommendation for STPP captures the emerging nature of the evidence and clinical utility of STPP and the issues of multiple divergent findings in that article and the use of many small and methodologically challenged studies do not allow for a clear, unequivocal conclusion.
Journal ArticleDOI
286. Genetic Polymorphism of Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor is Related to Antidepressant Efficacy and Treatment-Induced Hippocampal Plasticity in Patients With Major Depressive Disorder: CAN-BIND-1 Study
Nikita Nogovitsyn,Laura M. Fiori,Sakina J. Rizvi,Amanda K. Ceniti,Pedro Ballester,Jane A. Foster,Katharine Dunlop,Keith Ho,Stefanie Hassel,Roumen Milev,Claudio N. Soares,Stephen C. Strother,Stephen R. Arnott,Raymond W. Lam,Rudolf Uher,Sagar V. Parikh,Faranak Farzan,Valerie H Taylor,Glenda MacQueen,D.J. Mueller,Gustavo Turecki,Susan Rotzinger,Benicio N. Frey,Sidney H. Kennedy +23 more
TL;DR: In this article , the authors investigated the impact of BDNF polymorphism on antidepressant treatment outcomes and hippocampal volume changes during antidepressant treatment and found that BDNF expression can be altered due to genetic polymorphism in rs6265 (Valene [Val] replaced by Methionine [Met] allele).
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: In this article , the authors show that if heterogeneities in cohort-specific h S N P 2 exist, or if genetic correlations between cohorts are less than one, the out-of-sample prediction R2 will be greater than h S n P 2 and show the validity of their derivations with real data from a binary trait (major depression) and a continuous trait (educational attainment).
