One fungus, which genes? Development and assessment of universal primers for potential secondary fungal DNA barcodes.

J. B. Stielow, +62 more
- 28 Aug 2015 -
TL;DR: A novel high fidelity primer pair for TEF1α has potential as a supplementary DNA barcode with superior resolution to ITS, while TOPI and LNS2 are attractive for the Pucciniomycotina, for which universal primers for ribosomal subunits often fail.
Journal ArticleDOI

HapX-mediated adaption to iron starvation is crucial for virulence of Aspergillus fumigatus.

TL;DR: In this paper, the bZIP-type regulator HapX is indispensable for the transcriptional remodeling required for adaption to iron starvation in the opportunistic fungal pathogen Aspergillus fumigatus.
Journal ArticleDOI

Proposed nomenclature for Pseudallescheria, Scedosporium and related genera

Michaela Lackner, +67 more
- 25 Jul 2014 -
TL;DR: Members of the ECMM/ISHAM working group on Pseudallescheria/Scedosporium infections herein advocate a novel nomenclature for genera and species in Pseudscheria, Scedsporium and allied taxa.
Journal ArticleDOI

Production and characterization of di-rhamnolipid produced by Pseudomonas aeruginosa TMN

TL;DR: F Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and electro spray ionization–mass spectrometry (ESI–MS) analyses indicated that the purified product contained one type of commonly found rhamnolipid, which is L-rhamnosyl-L- rhamnosy-β-hydroxydecanoyl- β-HydroxYDecanoate.
