TL;DR: It is found that almost one-third of fecal bacterial taxa were heritable, and 58 SNPs associated with the relative abundance of 33 taxa in 1,098 discovery subjects remained significant after correction for multiple testing.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: In this article, the MiBioGen consortium curated and analyzed genome-wide genotypes and 16S fecal microbiome data from 18,340 individuals (24 cohorts) and found high variability across cohorts: only 9 of 410 genera were detected in more than 95% of samples.
Journal ArticleDOI
Fecal microbiota manipulation prevents dysbiosis and alcohol-induced liver injury in mice
Gladys Ferrere,Laura Wrzosek,Frédéric Cailleux,Williams Turpin,Williams Turpin,Virginie Puchois,Madeleine Spatz,Dragos Ciocan,Dominique Rainteau,Lydie Humbert,Lydie Humbert,Lydie Humbert,Cindy Hugot,Françoise Gaudin,Marie-Louise Noordine,Véronique Robert,Dominique Berrebi,Muriel Thomas,Sylvie Naveau,Gabriel Perlemuter,Anne-Marie Cassard +20 more
TL;DR: Manipulation of IM can prevent alcohol-induced liver injury and the IM should be considered as a new therapeutic target in ALD.

TL;DR: A phenome-wide association study and Mendelian randomization identified enrichment of microbiome trait loci in the metabolic, nutrition and environment domains and suggested the microbiome has causal effects in ulcerative colitis and rheumatoid arthritis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Assessment and Selection of Competing Models for Zero-Inflated Microbiome Data.
TL;DR: This paper compares the performance of different competing methods to model data with zero inflated features through extensive simulations and application to a microbiome study, and discusses the model selection strategy for zero inflated data and implements it in a gut microbiome study of > 400 independent subjects.
