Journal ArticleDOI
Holocene and latest Pleistocene climate and glacier fluctuations in Iceland
TL;DR: In this article, multiproxy climate records from Iceland reveal complex changes in terrestrial climate and glacier fluctuations through the Holocene, revealing some coherent patterns of change as well as significant spatial variability.
Journal ArticleDOI
Holocene climate change in Arctic Canada and Greenland.
Jason P. Briner,Nicholas P. McKay,Yarrow Axford,Ole Bennike,Raymond S. Bradley,Anne de Vernal,David A. Fisher,Pierre Francus,Bianca Fréchette,Konrad Gajewski,Anne E. Jennings,Darrell S. Kaufman,Gifford H. Miller,Cody Rouston,Bernd Wagner +14 more
TL;DR: In this article, a synthesis of existing literature on Holocene climate change in Arctic Canada and Greenland is presented, showing that the warmest-to-coldest millennium temperature change in the Holocene is 3.0 ± 1.0°C.
Journal ArticleDOI
A global database of Holocene paleotemperature records

Taylor,Karen J. Taylor,Valerie van den Bos,Gaute Velle,Eugene R. Wahl,Ian R. Walker,Janet M. Wilmshurst,Enlou Zhang,Snezhana Zhilich +94 more
TL;DR: A global compilation of quality-controlled, published, temperature-sensitive proxy records extending back 12,000 years through the Holocene, which can be used to reconstruct the spatiotemporal evolution of Holocene temperature at global to regional scales, is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Holocene climate changes in eastern Beringia (NW North America) – A systematic review of multi-proxy evidence
Darrell S. Kaufman,Yarrow Axford,Andrew C. G. Henderson,Nicholas P. McKay,W. Wyatt Oswald,Casey Saenger,R. Scott Anderson,Hannah Bailey,Benjamin F. Clegg,Konrad Gajewski,Feng Sheng Hu,Miriam C. Jones,Charly Massa,Cody C. Routson,Al Werner,Matthew J. Wooller,Zicheng Yu +16 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a review summarizes available information from diverse Holocene paleoenvironmental records across eastern Beringia (Alaska, westernmost Canada and adjacent seas), and quantifies the primary trends of temperature and moisture-sensitive records based in part on midges, pollen, and biogeochemical indicators.
Journal ArticleDOI
Response of Jakobshavn Isbræ, Greenland, to Holocene climate change
Nicolás E. Young,Jason P. Briner,Heather A.M. Stewart,Yarrow Axford,Beata Csatho,Dylan H. Rood,Dylan H. Rood,Robert C. Finkel +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a detailed chronology of ice-margin fluctuations over the past 10 k.y. for Jakobshavn Isbrae, Greenland's largest outlet glacier, was constructed using surface exposure ages and radiocarbon-dated lake sediments.
