TL;DR: In this paper, food colors were given to albino rats to observe the in vivo effect on liver tissues and serum lipids in experimental rats, and the results showed that high dose of food colors caused significant increase of serum Low-Density Lipoprotein (LDL) (p<0.01), more significant increase (p < 0.001) of serum triglycerides and total cholesterol, while serum High-density Lipiprotein (HDL) was significantly decreased.
Abstract: Objectives : Lipids are the most important structural component of various biological membranes. Some studies showed different effects of food colors on lipid level. Some food colors were given to albino rats to observe the in vivo effect on liver tissues and serum lipids in experimental rats. Materials and Methods : Twenty-four albino rats were randomly divided into four groups. Three groups were administered with different doses of the food colors in low protein diet for 30 days. Control group received low protein diet and drinking water ad libitum . Lipid profile in serum and liver of the experimental animals was measured and compared with the control animals. Blood serum was also analysed for total protein and glucose content. Results : High dose of food colors caused significant increase of serum Low-Density Lipoprotein (LDL) (p<0.01), more significant increase (p<0.001) of serum triglycerides and total cholesterol, while serum High-Density Lipoprotein (HDL) was significantly decreased. There was also a significant increase in the level of triglycerides, total cholesterol and LDL in the liver tissue. Although all lipid parameters in serum except HDL elevated, the maximum increase was seen in total triglycerides and the lowest elevation was observed in LDL. The serological studies revealed a significant increase in serum glucose, whereas a significant decrease was recorded in the levels of serum protein. Conclusion : The administration of food colors in albino rats induced liver damage hence, changes incurred in the lipid metabolism.

01 Feb 2018TL;DR: The Simulation results show that the I-DEEC scheme enhances the lifetime of network 8%-12%, reduces the power utilization 13%-19%, minimizes the delay for transmitting the packets and increases the packet delivery ratio.
Abstract: Sensors are most important components used in lots of electronic devices where human life is associated. A wireless sensor network has many applications where the most important information is to be transferred to the base station in energy efficient manner through multi-hop communication, Due to the tiny size of senor node there is a limited capacity of power and network do not work a long time, further it is very difficult to replace the battery in some hostile area, Therefore an energy consumption scheme or algorithm is needed to extend the network lifetime. The base station is located at the corner of network. In this paper an Improved-Distributed Energy Efficient Clustering (I-DEEC) scheme is proposed and evaluated. The scheme is simulated on MATLAB considering different size of network 100–500 nodes to check the efficiency on different parameters and compared with obtainable protocols DEEC and EESAA. These routing protocols are considered due to functionality of energy efficiency. The developed scheme extends the lifetime of network by selecting the finest shortest path to transmit the data packets. The optimal path can be selected according to the maximum remaining energy at the node for next hop with quality link and minimum number of hops. The Simulation results show that the I-DEEC scheme enhances the lifetime of network 8%-12%, reduces the power utilization 13%-19%, minimizes the delay for transmitting the packets and increases the packet delivery ratio.

TL;DR: In this paper, multivariate statistical techniques were applied to water quality dataset collected from Sarda Sagar Reservoir, which revealed the usefulness of multivariate techniques for evaluation of input water sources and interpretation of large complex water quality datasets for effective management of water resources.
Abstract: Multivariate statistical techniques were applied to water quality dataset collected from Sarda Sagar Reservoir. The results revealed the usefulness of multivariate techniques for evaluation of input water sources and interpretation of large complex water quality dataset for effective management of water resources. The largest source of variation (25%) is contributed from physical water quality parameters. Additional inputs come from the second factor accounting for about 15%. The third factor, accounting for 14% is associated with wastewater discharges and the fourth factor accounting for 12%. Finally, it suggests that a fraction of wastewater discharge is the only primary source of variations in this reservoir and there is no major threat of pollution. Cluster analysis showed that number of sampling sites as well as the sampling frequency could be consolidated.

TL;DR: In this paper, radiolysis of Fe(C 2 O 4 O 4 ) 3 3 3- ions in aqueous neutral and acidic solution has been done in the presence of 2-methyl propanol-1, 2-propanol-2, glucose and sodium formate; and the analysis of the steady-state suggests that apart from scavaging OH radicals, propanol and glucose give rise to radicals which act as reducing agent towards the complex (in addition to H and e - aq ).
