TL;DR: The concentrations of studied metals were lower than the WHO standards and significant differences in the levels of nickel, lead, and cadmium between the gills and muscle were revealed.
Abstract: Background and purpose: Aquatic ecosystems are important sources of food for human which are sometimes highlycontaminated. It is important to determine their levels of contaminations, so, in this study, theconcentrations of lead, cadmium and nickel was investigated in the gills and musclesof Barbusxanthopterus captured from Dez River, Iran. Materials and methods: Thirty samples of Barbusxanthopterus were captured from the central basin of Dez River using gillnet. The tissues were isolated, and the samples were digested. The concentrations of lead, cadmium and nickel were measured using a PE-4100 graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometer. Results: The levels of lead, cadmium and nickel in gills were 0.322 ± 0.006, 0.182 ±0.006, and 0.004 ± 0.219, respectively. The concentration of these metals in muscle were 0.277 ± 0.014, 0.005 ± 0.0146, and 0.013 ± 0.165, respectively. Higher concentrations of heavy metals were found in gills. T-test revealed significant differences in the levels of nickel, lead, and cadmium between the gills and muscle. Conclusion: According to thisresearchthe concentrations of studied metals were lower than the WHO standards.

TL;DR: The title ion pair, C13H10N+·C6H3N2O4 −, contains a protonated acridine cation and a 3-carboxypyrazine-2- carboxylate monoanion, which are linked together through O—H⋯O, N—H→O and weak C—H–O hydrogen bonds to generate a C(10) chain graph-set motif.
Abstract: The title ion pair, C13H10N+·C6H3N2O4−, contains a protonated acridine cation and a 3-carboxypyrazine-2-carboxylate monoanion, which are linked together through O—H⋯O, N—H⋯O and weak C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds. These hydrogen bonds generate a C(10) chain graph-set motif. The crystal structure is further stabilized by extensive π–π stacking interactions between nearly parallel [dihedral angle = 1.21(2)°] acridine systems. The shortest distance between the centroids of the six-membered rings within the cations is 3.6315 (8) A. In addition, C—H⋯π edge-to-face interactions are present.

23 May 2009TL;DR: Wikipedia is utilized, the largest encyclopedia to date, as a rich lexical resource to enhance the automatic construction of vector model representation of user interests and is evaluated using concepts extracted from this promising resource.
Abstract: A major component in any Web personalization system is its user model. Recently a number of researches have been done to incorporate semantics of a Web site in representation of its users. All of these efforts use either a specific manually constructed taxonomy or ontology or a general purpose one like WordNet to map page views into semantic elements. However, building a hierarchy of concepts manually is time consuming and expensive. On the other hand, general purpose resources suffer from low coverage of domain specific terms. In this paper we intend to address both these shortcomings. Our contribution is that we introduce a mechanism to automatically improve the representation of the user in the Web site using a comprehensive lexical semantic resource. We utilize Wikipedia, the largest encyclopedia to date, as a rich lexical resource to enhance the automatic construction of vector model representation of user interests. We evaluate the effectiveness of the resulting model using concepts extracted from this promising resource.
