02 Sep 1997TL;DR: In this article, a device for controlling the thrust of an aircraft, with several engines (M1, M4), comprising calculation units (UC1, UC4) that formulate first commands for controlling engine speeds.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for controlling the thrust of an aircraft, with several engines (M1, M4), comprising calculation units (UC1, UC4) that formulate first commands for controlling the engine speeds. According to the invention, said device (1) additionally comprises means (CONT1, CONT4) of controlling the two outer engines (M1, M4), calculation means that formulate second commands for controlling the speed of the outer engines (M1, M4) making it possible to obtain a reduction in thrust, and switching means which, during normal operation of the outer engines (M1, M4) send the first commands to these engines and, when one outer engine (M1) fails, send the second commands to the opposite outer engine (M4).

01 Jul 1997TL;DR: The paper gives new algorithms for a four-slot mechanism, and shows how these may be applied in a design, and has an access-control strategy which is complementary to that used by the previously known algorithms.
Abstract: Concurrent processes are said to communicate asynchronously when there is no mutual timing interference resulting from their communication operations. This property can be achieved by mechanisms which use multiple shared memory locations (slots) to transfer data, and where access to these slots is co-ordinated by small shared control variables. Algorithms are known which allow a writing process to communicate asynchronously with a reading process through a four-slot mechanism with no mutual timing constraints. The paper gives new algorithms for a four-slot mechanism, and shows how these may be applied in a design. The new algorithms have an access-control strategy which is complementary to that used by the previously known algorithms.

30 Aug 1988TL;DR: In this paper, the authors designed a rotation-symmetric space as an annular space with an internal overflow edge and provided a funnel-shaped collecting basin under the overflow edge.
Abstract: A device for the continuous production of a liquid mixture of solids and liquids has a rotation-symmetric space with approximately vertical rotation axis for the formation of a rotational flow. In order to obtain a simple, but reliably operating mixing device that furnishes a predictable mixing result, even if a very intense or considerably weaker stream is to be periodically present, it is proposed to design the rotation-symmetric space as an annular space (13) with an internal overflow edge (14) and to provide a funnel-shaped collecting basin (18) under the overflow edge (14) and to provide the discharge openings of the dosing devices (52, 53) for the substances to be mixed above the overflow edge (14). The liquid mixture is to selectively pass to a mixing vessel (28) or directly to a discharge pump (27) at the outlet of the collecting basin (18).

24 Feb 1993TL;DR: In this paper, the authors propose a removable seat for a vehicle consisting of a seat cushion, a backrest which can be folded down onto the seat cushion by tilting forwards and a substructure secured to the seat cushions and provided with means for removable fixing to the floor of the vehicle.
Abstract: The removable seat for a vehicle comprises a seat cushion, a backrest which can be folded down onto the seat cushion by tilting forwards and a substructure secured to the seat cushion and provided with means for removable fixing to the floor of the vehicle. The seat cushion and the backrest include a rigid shell (12, 16) which is open on the user side, containing at least one leaktight pouch (14, 18) provided with means for adjusting the pressure of a gas occupying the pouch. Such a seat can be used particularly in the back rows of seats of a people-carrier-type vehicle.
