Abstract: This paper initially summarizes the scientific requirements for a space borne cloud radar and different mission scenarios are categorized. The major system design constraints and their possible impact are then described in greater detail. A number of different concepts are then briefly described. The possible performance of an along track cloud radar is then estimated, this relatively simple concept being fairly typical of the type of concept that is likely to be first employed in orbit.© (1996) COPYRIGHT SPIE--The International Society for Optical Engineering.

TL;DR: A methodology that significantly reduces the cost of test program set development through Iconic Programming Software and in addition simplifies portability between different ATE and is based on an Aerospatiale Matra Test and Services tool "VISUAL ATE".
Abstract: This paper presents a methodology that significantly reduces the cost of test program set development through Iconic Programming Software and in addition simplifies portability between different ATE. The method achieves these goals through a user-friendly interface, which is largely independent of the ATE but can still produce a standardized test specification if required. This method is based on an Aerospatiale Matra Test and Services tool "VISUAL ATE" which requires no particular knowledge of a test programming language. The developer can concentrate on the technology of the equipment to be tested and is not distracted by details of the equipment used to perform the test. The method enables the application of a bottom-up program development methodology that gives the user the opportunity to incrementally develop his test program. This leads to cost-savings through maximum re-use of developments starting from design through to end user maintenance.

TL;DR: In this paper, at least two capacitive test patterns (161, 162) having different surface areas (S1, S2) and a test conducting pattern (18) having the same width as the tracks are deposited on the dielectric substrate (10) carrying the tracks, and the capacitances (C1, C2, Cr) of the capacitive and conducting patterns are measured.
Abstract: According to the method at least two capacitive test patterns (161, 162) having different surface areas (S1, S2) and a test conducting pattern (18) having the same width as the tracks are deposited on the dielectric substrate (10) carrying the tracks (14> the capacitances (C1, C2, Cr) of the capacitive and conducting patterns are measured, on the basis of the capacitances (C1, C2) of the capacitive patterns the thickness (e) of the dielectric substrate (e) between the said patterns and the earth plane, and the dielectric constant ( epsilon ) are calculated, the surface area of the conducting pattern is calculated on the basis of the capacitance of the conducting pattern (Cr) and of the dielectric constant, and the width of the tracks is deduced therefrom, and the capacitance of each equipotential linking track to be checked is measured, and it is compared with the theoretical capacitance of the said equipotential link.
