TL;DR: In this paper, a pulsed laser facility was developed to extend laser testing techniques to generate upset cross-section curves, which were used to establish an economical laser-based bulk screening capability for SEE susceptibility.
Abstract: A new pulsed laser facility has been developed to extend laser testing techniques to generate upset cross-section curves. The objective has been to establish an economical laser-based bulk screening capability for SEE susceptibility.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors propose a locking means comprising at least two parallel rails (12) fixed to the floor of the vehicle and two slides (14) integral with the seat, which can slide on the rails and are equipped with means which can be deactivated with the aid of a manual control borne by the frame of the seat.
Abstract: The device comprises at least two parallel rails (12) fixed to the floor of the vehicle and two slides (14) integral with the seat, which can slide on the rails (12) and are equipped with means, which can be deactivated with the aid of a manual control borne by the frame of the seat, for locking the slides in any one of several longitudinal positions. The locking means comprise housings distributed along the rails, these being intended to receive a lock bolt borne by the slides (14) and pushed back towards a position of engagement in one of the housings. The manual control includes a member which can be displaced along the slide from a position of rest in which it leaves the lock bolt free to engage in one of the housings towards a position in which it moves the lock bolt away from the housings.

TL;DR: In this paper, the null space method is used for solving the linear least squares problem subject to equality constraints, and three variants of the method, including one used in LAPACK that is based on the generalized QR factorization, are numerically stable.
Abstract: The null space method is a standard method for solving the linear least squares problem subject to equality constraints (the LSE problem). We show that three variants of the method, including one used in LAPACK that is based on the generalized QR factorization, are numerically stable. We derive two perturbation bounds for the LSE problem: one of standard form that is not attainable, and a bound that yields the condition number of the LSE problem to within a small constant factor. By combining the backward error analysis and perturbation bounds we derive an approximate forward error bound suitable for practical computation. Numerical experiments are given to illustrate the sharpness of this bound.

TL;DR: In this paper, a phase advance optimization circuit is used to optimize the phase advance angle to maximize the output torque of the motor and mimique the phase current in a multiphase permanent magnet motor.
Abstract: A control system for a multiphase permanent magnet motor having a controller for producing a control signal to energize each phase winding. The controller includes a current value calculator for determining a value of phase current advanced in phase with respect to back-EMF by a phase advance angle, and a phase advance optimization circuit for producing a value of the phase advance angle optimized so as to maximize output torque of the motor and mimimize the phase current. The phase advance optimization circuit determines the phase advance angle optimized for each phase of the motor.
