01 Jan 1999TL;DR: The architecture of MPI-BIP implemented with one or several messages of the underlying c ommunication system (BIP in this case) is shown, with the cost approximately an overhead of 2 s and the bandwidth reaching 110 MB/s.
Abstract: Device Interface Channel Interface NX Check_incoming "short", "eager", P4 TCP/IP Paragon SP/2 Generic ADI code, datatype mgmt, heterogeneity request queues mgmt " Protocol interface" SGI port. other ports shared-mem port MPL BIP MPI BIP "rendez-vous" Protocols Figure 1: The architecture of MPI-BIP implemented with one or several messages of the underlying c ommunication system (BIP in our case). The cost of MPI-BIP is approximately an overhead of 2 s (mainly CPU) over BIP for the latency on our cluster. Thus, the latency of the non-S MP MPI-BIP is very good, 7 s, and the bandwidth reaches 110 MB/s.

23 Mar 1992TL;DR: The authors extend their previous work where a robust hidden Markov model (HMM) training/recognition framework is proposed and several new aspects are introduced: use of enhanced nonlinear spectral subtraction (NSS) schemes, introduction of root-MFCC parameters, and training of HMMs by a dynamic inference scheme (DIHMM).
Abstract: The authors address the problem of speaker-dependent discrete utterance recognition in noise. Special reference is made to the mismatch effects due to the fact that training and testing are carried out in different environments. The authors extend their previous work (Lockwood and Boudy, 1991) where a robust hidden Markov model (HMM) training/recognition framework is proposed. Several new aspects are introduced: use of enhanced nonlinear spectral subtraction (NSS) schemes, introduction of root-MFCC parameters, use of dynamic features, and training of HMMs by a dynamic inference scheme (DIHMM). These enhancements are discussed from tests performed on bandlimited signals (200-3000 Hz). The authors show that these various optimizations allow a rise from 20% to over 99% in performance. A 93% recognition rate is already achievable on raw data using a weighted modified projection and a root-MFCC dynamic representation. >

31 Dec 1997TL;DR: The Meteosat Second Generation (MSG) program consists of a series of 3 satellites, the objectives of which were defined by the European meteorological community led by ESA and the European Organization for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT) as mentioned in this paper.
Abstract: The Meteosat Second Generation (MSG) program consists of a series of 3 satellites, the objectives of which were defined by the European meteorological community led by the European Space Agency (ESA) and the European Organization for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT). The development and procurement of the MSG satellite is under the responsibility of ESA. The corresponding ground segment will be procured by EUMETSAT, and they will operate the overall system. Aerospatiale of France leads an industrial consortium of more than 50 European companies that develop and manufacture the spacecraft. The objective of the MSG program is to provide a continuous and reliable collection of environmental data in support of weather forecasting and related services. A major element of this objective is fulfilled by the imaging mission, which corresponds to a continuous image taking of the Earth using 12 channels with a baseline repeat cycle of 15 minutes, including the on-board calibration and the retrace. The imaging tasks are performed by the spinning enhanced visible and infrared imager (SEVIRI), which is being developed by Matra-Marconi Space, France. Provision is also made for the satellite to carry as an experimental payload the so-called geostationary Earth radiation budget (GERB) instrument. This paper focuses on SEVIRI and its radiometric and imaging mission performances.© (1997) COPYRIGHT SPIE--The International Society for Optical Engineering. 07 May 1986TL;DR: A movable seat assembly, such as a removable vehicle seat, comprising a structure having front legs and rear legs, each of the legs including a fork member and arranged to co-operate with a fixed attachment rod of a frame is described in this paper.
Abstract: A movable seat assembly, such as a removable vehicle seat, comprising a structure having front legs and rear legs, each of the legs including a fork member and arranged to co-operate with a fixed attachment rod of a frame. A movable lock member is provided on each leg and is used to lock the leg on the corresponding attachment rod. A return biasing means is provided for urging each of the lock members into its locked position, and manually operated means are provided for actuating each of the lock members into its unlocked position, against the return biasing means, in order to release the seat legs from the corresponding attachment rods.

02 Feb 1994TL;DR: In this article, a memory component has a rectangular semiconductor substrate containing active memory circuits and output terminals on a major surface of the substrate, and an insulating layer on the major surface receives a plurality of metal connection leads connecting the output terminals to connection pads located on the main surface along only one of longer sides of the semiconducting substrate.
Abstract: A memory component has a rectangular semiconductor substrate containing active memory circuits and output terminals on a major surface thereof An insulating layer on the major surface receives a plurality of metal connection leads, connecting the output terminals to connection pads located on the major surface along only one of longer sides of the substrate A plurality of additional pads are distributed between the connecting pads and are devoid of connection leads A memory module comprising several stacked memory components is also described, which uses the additional pads as relays
