TL;DR: A joint economic lot-sizing problem under stochastic demand for a vendor–buyer system by synchronizing ordering and production cycles is presented and an iterative procedure to find the optimal values of decision variables is suggested.
Abstract: This paper presents a joint economic lot-sizing problem under stochastic demand for a vendor–buyer system by synchronizing ordering and production cycles. The buyer manages its inventory periodical...

TL;DR: In this paper, the translation of politeness markers from English to Indonesian has been investigated and it was found that established equivalence, variation, and explicitation techniques employed to the translation contributed to the maintenance of characterisation and the translation quality.
Abstract: Politeness strategies have been studied from various angles. In literary works, they can be used as a device to frame characterisation. However, in recent times only a few studies have investigated the association of politeness strategies with characterisation as seen from the translation perspective. This article discusses the result of an investigation on how far the translation of politeness markers in giving commands has contributed to the framing of certain characterisation in literary works. A Pragmatic approach is used in this qualitative research to analyse the translation of politeness markers from English to Indonesian. Objective data were collected through purposive sampling from Dan Brown’s novel Deception Point and its two Indonesian versions to obtain information as to which techniques produce better translation quality in both translations. Then, affective data were collected through Focus Group Discussions. The results show that the translation of politeness markers contributed to the characterisation. It was found that established equivalence, variation, and explicitation techniques employed to the translation of politeness markers contributed to the maintenance of characterisation and the translation quality. Meanwhile, addition, reduction, and literal translation techniques altered the characterisations and therefore, decreased the translation quality. This implies that translators should consider politeness and characterisation in translating commands. TL;DR: Setyawan et al. as discussed by the authors investigated the species diversity of selaginella in the mountain of Java, Indonesia, and found nine species: S. aristata, S. opaca, S., S. plana, S, remotifolia, singalanensis and S. zollingeriana.
Abstract: Setyawan AD, Sutarno, Sugiyarto. 2013. Species diversity of Selaginella in Mount Lawu, Java, Indonesia. Biodiversitas 14: 1-9. Selaginella is a genus of ferns allies that lives in moist areas and requires water for fertilization; therefore it is often found in highlands. The aim of this research was to know species diversity of Selaginella in Mount Lawu and the vicinity areas. The research was conducted between July 2007 and November 2012 on the western and southern slopes of Mount Lawu, Central- and East-Java, Indonesia, with altitudes between 1100 and 2100 m a.s.l. The research included three sites and the vicinity areas, i.e. (i) Protected forest of Cemorosewu, (ii) Grojogansewu Natural Recreation Park, and (iii) KGPAA Mangkunagoro I (Ngargoyoso) Grand Forest Park. The research found nine selaginellas species, namely: S. aristata, S. ciliaris, S. involvens, S. opaca, S. ornata, S. plana, S. remotifolia, S. singalanensis and S. zollingeriana.

TL;DR: This paper reports the effect of hyperchaos permutation on the False-Positive-Free (FPF) Singular Value Decomposition (SVD)-based image watermarking scheme, which satisfies the imperceptibility and robustness aspects but can suffer from the false positive problem.
Abstract: This paper reports the effect of hyperchaos permutation on the False-Positive-Free (FPF) Singular Value Decomposition (SVD)-based image watermarking scheme. To further improve the security aspect, the watermark image is firstly processed using the hyperchaos permutation before being embedded into the host image. In this scheme, only principal component of watermark image is inserted into the transformed host image to avoid the false positive problem. As reported in the experimental results, the proposed method satisfies the imperceptibility and robustness aspects. At the same time, the proposed method can suffer from the false positive problem which often occurs in the former existing SVD-based image watermarking schemes.

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors developed a framework to assess the leanness of companies in the automotive industry by identifying six drivers of facility, inventory, transportation, sourcing, pricing and information as the major components of supply chains.
Abstract: The main objective of this study is to develop a framework to assess the leanness of companies in the automotive industry. Although lean manufacturing (LM) has been discussed in previous studies, leanness assessment is less investigated. Therefore, to fill this gap, this study is conducted to assess the leanness of three manufacturing companies with regard to different supply chain drivers. Principally, six drivers of facility, inventory, transportation, sourcing, pricing and information are selected as the major components of supply chains. The lean-related activities of each driver are identified and a benchmarked questionnaire is applied to assess the leanness of companies. Next, different leanness of each driver is calculated accordingly. An overall quantity of leanness is also provided for each company. Finally, some managerial insights and future research directions are recommended. According to the results, second case study has the highest degree of leanness in comparison to other two companies. In addition, this company has the best performance with regard to each supply chain driver.
