Lean supplier selection: a data envelopment analysis (DEA) approach

Abstract: The main aim of this study is to propose an incorporated model to evaluate suppliers using a lean manufacturing perspective. Although lean manufacturing has achieved an extensive amount of attention in previous studies, its integration with supplier selection is less investigated. To fill this gap, this study was conducted to systematically propose an integrated approach to select suppliers based on lean related attributes. Particularly, four performance perspectives (cost, quality, lead time and service level) in addition to 16 related metrics were designated as substitutes for leanness. The extracted metrics in addition to supply variety and quality of distribution were used as the inputs and outputs of DEA model, respectively. The proposed model was solved and some managerial implications were then suggested.

Green Synthesis of Hexagonal Hematite (α-Fe2O3) Flakes Using Pluronic F127-Gelatin Template for Adsorption and Photodegradation of Ibuprofen.

Abstract: Hematite (α-Fe2O3) with uniform hexagonal flake morphology has been successfully synthesized using a combination of gelatin as natural template with F127 via hydrothermal method. The resulting hematite was investigated as adsorbent and photocatalyst for removal of ibuprofen as pharmaceutical waste. Hexagonal flake-like hematite was obtained following calcination at 500 °C with the average size was measured at 1–3 µm. Increasing the calcination temperature to 700 °C transformed the uniform hexagonal structure into cubic shape morphology. Hematite also showed high thermal stability with increasing the calcination temperatures; however, the surface area was reduced from 47 m2/g to 9 m2/g. FTIR analysis further confirmed the formation Fe-O-Fe bonds, and the main constituent elements of Fe and O were observed in EDX analysis for all samples. α-Fe2O3 samples have an average adsorption capacity of 55–25.5 mg/g at 12–22% of removal efficiency when used as adsorbent for ibuprofen. The adsorption capacity was reduced as the calcination temperatures increased due to the reduction of available surface area of the hexagonal flakes after transforming into cubes. Photocatalytic degradation of ibuprofen using hematite flakes achieved 50% removal efficiency; meanwhile, combination of adsorption and photocatalytic degradation further removed 80% of ibuprofen in water/hexane mixtures.

Religious Education Values in Gita Savitri Devi's Rentang Kisah and Andori Andriani's Doriyaki Novels

Abstract: Religious education is one pillar in human life. This article aims to determine the values of religious education contained in literary works, one of which is a novel. Novels are literary works that attract the readers’ attentions the most because of the plot. Many modern novels containing the values of religious education can be imitated. The RentangKisah by Gita Savitri Devi and Doriyaki by AndoriAndriani are modern novels which contain the values of religious education. These can be seen in the life stories of both. Different family life and social environment make these two novels have different religious education values in their stories. This study is a qualitative descriptive study. The data were collected by taking a note the excerpts of Gita and Dori which contain religious education values. This study aims to determine the values of religious education in the RentangKisah and Doriyaki novels. The results of this study are the values of religious education shown by Gita and Dori.

Pembelajaran fisika dengan pendekatan keterampilan proses dengan metode eksperimen dan demonstrasi ditinjau dari sikap ilmiah dan kemampuan analisis

Abstract: Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran dengan pendekatan keterampilan proses menggunakan metode eksperimen dan demonstrasi, sikap ilmiah, kemampuan analisis, dan interaksinya terhadap prestasi belajar siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen. Populasinya terdiri dari siswa kelas XI SMAN 1 Jakenan tahun pelajaran 2011/2012. Sampel yang diambil 2 kelas yaitu kelas XI IPA 5 dan XI IPA 6 dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data kemampuan analisis dan prestasi kognitif menggunakan metode tes. Untuk data sikap ilmiah dan prestasi afektif menggunakan metode angket. Teknik analisis data menggunakan multivariate analysis of variance (manova). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan: 1) tidak terdapat pengaruh pembelajaran dengan metode terhadap prestasi kognitif. Namun, terdapat pengaruh pembelajaran dengan metode terhadap prestasi afektif; 2) terdapat pengaruh sikap ilmiah tinggi dan rendah terhadap prestasi kognitif dan afektif; 3) terdapat pengaruh kemampuan analisis tinggi dan rendah terhadap prestasi kognitif. Namun tidak terdapat pengaruh kemampuan analisis tinggi dan rendah terhadap prestasi afektif; 4) tidak terdapat interaksi antara metode dengan sikap ilmiah terhadap prestasi kognitif dan afektif; 5) tidak terdapat interaksi antara metode dengan kemampuan analisis terhadap prestasi kognitif, namun terdapat interaksi antara metode dengan kemampuan analisis terhadap prestasi afektif; 6) tidak terdapat interaksi sikap ilmiah dengan kemampuan analisis terhadap prestasi kognitif dan afektif; 7) tidak terdapat interaksi pembelajaran antara metode, sikap ilmiah, dan kemampuan analisis terhadap prestasi kognitif dan afektif. Kata kunci : pendekatan keterampilan proses, sikap ilmiah, kemampuan analisis, prestasi belajar, fluida statis.
