Composite Material Consisting of HKUST-1 and Indonesian Activated Natural Zeolite and its Application in CO2 Capture

Abstract: Abstract In this study, composite materials consisting in HKUST-1 [Cu3(BTC)2] (BTC: benzene 1, 3, 5-tricarboxylate) and an Indonesian activated natural zeolite (ANZ) from Klaten, Central Java, were successfully prepared and characterized. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of the combination of these two materials on the characteristics of the composite as well as to determine its CO2 gas adsorption ability. The composite HKUST-1-ANZ (ANZ@HKUST-1) was synthesized in two different techniques, i.e., solvothermal and sonication method. The obtained materials exhibited X-ray diffractogram characteristics of both HKUST-1 and ANZ. Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) analysis showed a combination of peaks from HKUST-1 and ANZ, i.e. peaks assigned to carboxylate groups and bonds between Cu-O from HKUST-1, as well as N-H bending and SiO from ANZ. The addition of ANZ to HKUST-1 decreased its surface area and nitrogen sorption capacity. Application of the composites as CO2 capture materials shows their CO2 adsorption capacity is increased (ca. 12%) comparing to the initial materials. Graphical Abstract

Carbon rod of zinc-carbon primary battery waste as a substrate for CdS and TiO2 photocatalyst layer for visible light driven photocatalytic hydrogen production

Abstract: In this research, carbon rod as a solid waste of primary Zinc-Carbon batteries was used as a substrate for CdS and TiO 2 film. The film was deposited by chemical bath deposition with surfactant molecules as linker agent to promote the connection between the semiconductor film and the substrate. Material characterization was conducted to understand the phases content, its surface morphology, the quantum yield (QY) as measured through isopropanol degradation, and then their activity as a photocatalyst for visible light driven photocatalytic hydrogen production. XRD analysis found that the carbon rod waste is a mechanical mixture of amorphous carbon, represented by width broad peak lying between 22 and 25° and graphitic carbon, represented by a strong (002) peak at 26.3° and also a (001) peak at 42.2°. The result shows that CdS/Carbon (CdS/C) has higher photocatalytic activity than the TiO 2 /Carbon (TiO 2 /C) with the quantum yield value at 380 nm of a photon is 1.651 × 10 −3 . Meanwhile, TiO 2 /C provide the value of 1.495 × 10 −4 . The QY value of CdS/C also higher than TiO 2 /C at 450 nm of the light source. The H 2 production which was conducted with CdS/C performs 1.67 times higher than the production with TiO 2 /C as a photocatalyst, i.e., 0.369 μmol s −1 g −1 . Meanwhile, the H 2 production rate with TiO 2 /C is 0.222 μmol s −1 g −1 .

Pengaruh pembelajaran bervisi dan berpendekatan sets terhadap prestasi belajar ditinjau dari kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas x sman 2 sukoharjo pada materi minyak bumi tahun pelajaran 2011/2012

Abstract: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) Mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran bervisi dan berpendekatan SETS terhadap prestasi belajar pada materi Minyak Bumi siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo tahun pelajaran 2011/2012, 2) Mengetahui pengaruh kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa terhadap prestasi belajar pada materi Minyak Bumi siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo tahun pelajaran 2011/2012, dan 3) Mengetahui interaksi antara pembelajaran bervisi dan berpendekatan SETS dengan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa terhadap prestasi belajar pada materi Minyak Bumi siswa kelas X SMA Negeri 2 Sukoharjo tahun pelajaran 2011/2012. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah factorial design 2 x 2. Teknik pengambilan sampel dengan cluster random sampling, kelas X-6 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan X-5 sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tes dan angket. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji statistik anava 2 jalan. Hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa : 1) Terdapat pengaruh signifikan pembelajaran bervisi dan berpendekatan SETS terhadap prestasi belajar kognitif dan afektif siswa kelas X SMAN 2 Sukoharjo pada materi minyak bumi, 2) Tidak terdapat pengaruh signifikan kemampuan berpikir kritis baik terhadap prestasi kognitif maupun prestasi afektif siswa kelas X SMAN 2 Sukoharjo pada materi minyak bumi, dan 3) Tidak ada interaksi antara pembelajaran bervisi dan berpendekatan SETS dengan kemampuan berpikir kritis terhadap prestasi kognitif maupun prestasi afektif siswa kelas X SMAN 2 Sukoharjo pada materi minyak bumi. Accounting Information System (AIS) Alignment and Non-financial Performance in Small Firm: A Contingency Perspective

Abstract: Accounting Information System (AIS) is very important for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) because it can provide information for the owner in decision making. In line with the result of previous study, which find that AIS alignment is needed because it will affect company performance. This study aims to test the direct relationship and mediating relationship among three contingency variables of AIS alignment on non-financial performance. This study employs questionnaire with 87 SMEs owner in Yogyakarta region as samples. The results show that AIS sophisticated, owner commitment affect non-financial performance, either directly or mediated by AIS alignment. This study implies that AIS is very essential for SMEs to survive in a very competitive environme470686nt.
