01 Jan 2020TL;DR: In this article, the ability of dryland farmer households in terms of food availability, access to food, food utilization, energy adequacy, protein adequacy rate, and the ratio of food expenditure and total expenditure was evaluated.
Abstract: Dryland farmer households in food-insecure areas are faced with an unfavorable situation infertile agricultural land, low rainfall, lack of production activity and very limited infrastructure. On the other hand, their needs for food consumption must be fulfilled for a healthy, productive and sustainable life. The purpose of this study is to determine the ability of farmer households to achieve food security in food-insecure areas. This study uses primary data obtained from dryland farmer households by snowball sampling. The ability of dryland farmer households in terms of food availability, access to food, food utilization, energy adequacy rate, protein adequacy rate, the ratio of food expenditure and total expenditure. The households commonly consume local food with the amount of energy and protein sufficiency less than the recommended amount. The food consumption adaptation strategy is applied during the off-season and/or when food stock is running low.

TL;DR: In this paper, a survey and qualitative descriptive method was used to identify the students' intensity of using a smartphone, the description of students' smartphone usage, and students' perspectives regarding the smartphone usage in learning activities.
Abstract: Introduction. The rapid development of information and technology has procreated a digital culture in Indonesian education. This article aims to depict the current condition of digital culture in Indonesian education by pointing at the issue of students’ digital fluency, particularly the readiness for using digital learning resources and smartphone usage.Materials and Methods. A combination of the survey and qualitative descriptive method was used to identify the students’ intensity of using a smartphone, the description of students’ smartphone usage, and the students’ perspectives regarding the smartphone usage in learning activities. The data were collected through questionnaires from 384 students in the first grade of senior high schools in Surakarta, Central Java, Indonesia.Results. The findings of the research show that the students regularly use the smartphone more than 6 to 7 hours a day. The students use the Internet to gather information or download the learning materials. Moreover, they strongly agree that smartphone usage will give benefits to them.Discussion and Conclusion. The findings of research reflect that the students engage with the smartphone as a device to support their learning activities. The students’ engagement reflects the positive impact of smartphone usage on the psychological and cultural dimensions of the students. Moreover, the teachers should uphold the students’ digital culture by integrating digital material resources and smartphone usage into classroom activities.

01 Aug 2018TL;DR: In this article, a simple technique to enhance the bandwidth and reduce the mutual coupling in dual-band MIMO planar monopole antenna is presented, which uses a combination of simple folded slot and partial ground plane.
Abstract: This paper presents a simple technique to enhance the bandwidth and reduce the mutual coupling in dualband MIMO planar monopole antenna. We use a combination of simple folded slot and partial ground plane. The proposed MIMO antenna structure consists of two planar monopole elements which are arranged side by side on a compact FR4 substrate with dimensions 30×50×1.6 mm3, The existing of the folded slot in patch radiator causes a changing of operation frequency to be two frequencies bands/dualband, i.e., 2.8 GHz/lower frequency and 3.5 GHz/upper frequency. These two frequency bands are addressed to implement 5G mobile communication in Indonesia. According to the simulated results, our technique yields a refinement of mutual coupling approximately 4 dB at upper frequency. In addition, partial ground plane improves a wider impedance bandwidth (S11, S22 < – 10 dB). The improvement of impedance bandwidth values are 9.22 % (antenna 1) & 45.1 % (antenna 2) at lower frequency and 1.19 % (antenna 1) & 42.9 % (antenna 2) at upper frequency, respectively. The obtained envelope correlation coefficient (ECC) values show that partial ground plane also gives a better ECC than full ground plane and its numerical values are less than the MIMO threshold value of 0.3.

01 Sep 2019TL;DR: In this paper, a real time energy meter reading system using ACS712 as current sensor, ZMPT101B as voltage sensor, arduino and an IoT server is presented.
Abstract: Energy meter is a measuring instrument to calculate the amound of electric energy consumed by an electrically powered device. The energy metering which measure line voltage, current, and calculating active power can be used to increase usage efficiency of electricity. This paper presets a system which provide real time energy meter reading using ACS712 as current sensor, ZMPT101B as voltage sensor, arduino and an IoT server. The energy meter can display consumed energy in kWh and electricity bills to be paid. system's user interface is in Android. the error in current measurement is less than 2 % and error for peak to peak voltage measurement is 4 %. A notification for the amount of electricity energy usage or electricity cost can be generated for user to be displayed.
