A Monte Carlo event generator HIJING is developed to study jet and multiparticle production in high energy {ital pp, {ital pA}, and {ital AA} collisions, and a schematic mechanism of jet interactions in dense matter is described.
Abstract
Combining perturbative-QCD inspired models for multiple jet production with low ${p}_{T}$ multistring phenomenology, we develop a Monte Carlo event generator hijing to study jet and multiparticle production in high energy $\mathrm{pp}$, $\mathrm{pA}$, and $\mathrm{AA}$ collisions. The model includes multiple minijet production, nuclear shadowing of parton distribution functions, and a schematic mechanism of jet interactions in dense matter. Glauber geometry for multiple collisions is used to calculate $\mathrm{pA}$ and $\mathrm{AA}$ collisions. The phenomenological parameters are adjusted to reproduce essential features of $\mathrm{pp}$ multiparticle production data for a wide energy range ($\sqrt{s}=5\ensuremath{-}2000$ GeV). Illustrative tests of the model on $p+A$ and light-ion $B+A$ data at $\sqrt{s}=20$ GeV/nucleon and predictions for Au+Au at energies of the BNL Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider ($\sqrt{s}=200$ GeV/nucleon) are given.

Studying re-scattering effect in heavy-ion collision through $K^*$ Production

TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the hadronic re-scattering effect on the measured yields of the resonance in high energy nuclear collisions and showed that a decrease in the reconstructed yield with an increase in collision centrality necessarily reflects the effect of the rescattering.

Measurement of the D-meson nuclear modification factor and elliptic flow in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\text{{NN}}}}$ = 5.02 TeV with ALICE at the LHC

TL;DR: The ALICE Collaboration measured the D-mesons (D$^{0}, D$^{+}, D*$+}$ and D$''+}_{\text s}$) production in Pb-Pb collisions at 5.02 TeV as discussed by the authors.

Probing the topological charge in QCD matter via multiplicity up–down asymmetry

TL;DR: In this article, a unique signal for the topological charge in QCD matter can be identified from the asymmetric distribution of particles with momenta pointing to the upper and lower hemispheres of the reaction plane as a result of fluctuating net axial charge.

Baryon-Strangeness correlations in Parton/Hadron transport model for Au + Au collisions at \sqrt{s_{NN}} = 200 GeV

TL;DR: In this paper, the centrality dependence of the Baryonstrangeness correlation in a multiphase transport model was investigated with a multi-phase transport model, from partonic phase to hadronic matter, and it was shown that the system still reserve partial predicted signatures after parton coalescence.

Jet physics in ALICE

TL;DR: In this article, the main results from the high-pT hadron analysis at RHIC were reviewed and the new possibilities that the wider kinematic range at the LHC will offer and how they will help us to better characterize the medium produced in these collisions.
