Structure of DraD invasin from uropathogenic Escherichia coli: a dimer with swapped beta-tails.
Robert Jedrzejczak,Zbigniew Dauter,Miroslawa Dauter,Rafał Piatek,Beata Zalewska,Marta Mróz,Katarzyna Bury,Bogdan Nowicki,Józef Kur +8 more
TL;DR: The crystal structure of a construct of E. coli DraD possessing an additional C-terminal extension of 13 amino acids has been solved and confirms that DraD is able to act as an acceptor in the donor-strand complementation mechanism of fiber formation but, in contrast to DraE adhesin, its native sequence does not have a donor strand.
Journal ArticleDOI
Molecular replacement using ab initio polyalanine models generated with ROSETTA.
TL;DR: In this contribution, a number of additional test cases in which ab initio models generated using modest computational resources give correct molecular-replacement solutions are reported.
Journal ArticleDOI

Metrics for comparison of crystallographic maps
Alexandre Urzhumtsev,Alexandre Urzhumtsev,Pavel V. Afonine,Vladimir Y. Lunin,Thomas C. Terwilliger,Paul D. Adams,Paul D. Adams +6 more
TL;DR: Rank scaling of Fourier syntheses leads to new tools for the comparison of crystallographic contour maps that are in better agreement with a visual map analysis than the conventional map correlation coefficient.
Journal ArticleDOI
Generation of ultra-large-bandwidth X-ray free-electron-laser pulses with a transverse-gradient undulator.
TL;DR: A novel, flexible yet simple method to generate gigawatt X-ray free-electron-laser radiation with unprecedented spectral bandwidth above the 10% level is presented.
