Localization of optics: Quasiperiodic media.
TLDR
An experiment to probe the (quasi)localization of the photon is proposed, in which optical layers are constructed following the Fibonacci sequence, which has scaling with respect to the number of layers, as well as an interesting fluctuation.Abstract:
An experiment to probe the (quasi)localization of the photon is proposed, in which optical layers are constructed following the Fibonacci sequence. The transmission coefficient has a rich structure as a function of the wavelength of light and, in fact, is multifractal. For particular wavelengths for which the resonance condition is satisfied, the light propagation has scaling with respect to the number of layers, as well as an interesting fluctuation.read more

Properties of plasmon-polariton modes in one-dimensional photonic superlattices made of Rudin-Shapiro bases
TL;DR: In this paper, the plasmon polariton dispersion relations as well as the dependence on the angle of incidence of the Bragg and Plasmon-polariton photonic bandgaps are reported.

Influence of optic phonons and plasmons on light propagation in Fibonacci semiconductor superlattices
Mahi R. Singh,M.G. Cottam +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the optical reflection and transmission coefficients in finite-thickness Fibonacci semiconductor superlattices were studied. Butts et al. employed a general oblique-angle geometry.

21 - Layered Photonic Crystals with Left-Handed Materials
TL;DR: In this paper, a combination of two multilayer structures composed of RHMs and LHMs is proposed to realize an omnidirectional reflector of light for both transverse electric (TE) or transverse magnetic (TM) polarization of the electromagnetic waves.

Evolution of orbital angular momentum in a soft quasi-periodic structure with topological defects.
TL;DR: In this article, a quasi-periodic structure (QPS) with topological defects is proposed, and the analytical expression of the corresponding Fourier spectrum is derived, which reflects the combined effects of topological structure and quasi-translational symmetry.
