Localization of optics: Quasiperiodic media.
TLDR
An experiment to probe the (quasi)localization of the photon is proposed, in which optical layers are constructed following the Fibonacci sequence, which has scaling with respect to the number of layers, as well as an interesting fluctuation.Abstract:
An experiment to probe the (quasi)localization of the photon is proposed, in which optical layers are constructed following the Fibonacci sequence. The transmission coefficient has a rich structure as a function of the wavelength of light and, in fact, is multifractal. For particular wavelengths for which the resonance condition is satisfied, the light propagation has scaling with respect to the number of layers, as well as an interesting fluctuation.read more

Continuity properties of the electronic spectrum of $1$D quasicrystals
TL;DR: In this article, the authors considered operators H(α,x) defined in the algebra of bounded periodic functions on ℝ2 generated by the characteristic functions of the sets and showed that the spectrum (as a set) varies continuously with respect to α near each irrational, for anyx.

Multiple responses of TPP-assisted near-perfect absorption in metal/Fibonacci quasiperiodic photonic crystal.
TL;DR: It is found that a large number of photonic stopbands can occur at the dielectric Fibonacci multilayers, and the number of absorption peaks can be tuned effectively and enlarged significantly.

Bistability, multistability and non-reciprocal light propagation in Thue–Morse multilayered structures
TL;DR: In this paper, the nonlinear properties of quasi-periodic photonic crystals based on the Thue-Morse sequence are investigated, and the intrinsic spatial asymmetry of these one-dimensional structures for odd generation numbers results in bistability thresholds, which are sensitive to the propagation direction.
