Abstract
An experiment to probe the (quasi)localization of the photon is proposed, in which optical layers are constructed following the Fibonacci sequence. The transmission coefficient has a rich structure as a function of the wavelength of light and, in fact, is multifractal. For particular wavelengths for which the resonance condition is satisfied, the light propagation has scaling with respect to the number of layers, as well as an interesting fluctuation.

Waves in one-dimensional quasicrystalline structures: dynamical trace mapping, scaling and self-similarity of the spectrum

TL;DR: In this article, an invariant function of the circular frequency, the Kohmoto's invariant, governs self-similarity and scaling of the stop/pass band layout within defined ranges of frequencies at increasing generation index.

Spin waves in planar quasicrystal of Penrose tiling

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated two-dimensional magnonic structures which are the counterparts of photonic quasicrystals forming Penrose tiling and used the plane wave method to find the frequency spectrum of eigenmodes for spin waves and their spatial profiles.

Narrowband optical filter design for DWDM communication applications based on Generalized Aperiodic Thue–Morse structures

TL;DR: Numerical simulations in this research show an ultra high efficiency and a very low crosstalk for this filter so that the total transmission of filter output channels is up to 100% and the range of output wavelength is 1550 nm which is suitable for DWDM communication systems.

Spectral analysis of the fibonacci-class one-dimensional quasi-periodic structures

TL;DR: In this article, the spectral properties of the Fibonacci-class one-dimensional quasi-periodic structures, FC J(n), as an important optical structure are investigated using analytical relations.
