Abstract
An experiment to probe the (quasi)localization of the photon is proposed, in which optical layers are constructed following the Fibonacci sequence. The transmission coefficient has a rich structure as a function of the wavelength of light and, in fact, is multifractal. For particular wavelengths for which the resonance condition is satisfied, the light propagation has scaling with respect to the number of layers, as well as an interesting fluctuation.

Analysis of transmittance properties in 1D hybrid dielectric photonic crystal containing superconducting thin films

TL;DR: In this paper, the transmittance properties of a defective hybrid dielectric-dielectric photonic crystal that contains a superconducting material as a defect layer were investigated by means of two fluid model and transfer matrix method.

Structural fabrication and defect-dependent optical transmission of dielectric multilayer films

TL;DR: In this paper, structural fabrication and optical transmission of dielectric multilayer films with a defect both theoretically and experimentally were presented. And the authors showed that a defect layer in the structure can induce the localized mode that is shown as the transmission peak in the photonic band gap (PBG).

High-performance terahertz refractive index sensor based on a hybrid graphene Tamm structure

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a novel refractive index sensor consisting of monolayer graphene and multilayer photonic crystal with a defect layer, which can be either tuned by adjusting geometric parameters or actively controlled by the chemical potential in graphene as well as the incident angle of light, allowing for tunable dual-band perfect absorption with strong interaction.

Electromagnetic scattering by a quasiperiodic generalized multilayer Fibonacci structure with grates of magnetodielectric bars

TL;DR: In this article, the scattering coefficients of a finite quasiperiodic Fibonacci sequence for the incident wave of perpendicular and parallel polarization are obtained using the matrix polynomials methods.

Beyond Bragg mirrors: the design of aperiodic omnidirectional multilayer reflectors

TL;DR: In this article, a method that enables omnidirectional reflectivity for all polarizations of incident light over a wide selectable range of wavelengths was used to design aperiodic multilayer mirrors.
