TLDR
An experiment to probe the (quasi)localization of the photon is proposed, in which optical layers are constructed following the Fibonacci sequence, which has scaling with respect to the number of layers, as well as an interesting fluctuation.
Abstract
An experiment to probe the (quasi)localization of the photon is proposed, in which optical layers are constructed following the Fibonacci sequence. The transmission coefficient has a rich structure as a function of the wavelength of light and, in fact, is multifractal. For particular wavelengths for which the resonance condition is satisfied, the light propagation has scaling with respect to the number of layers, as well as an interesting fluctuation.

Constraints on transmission, dispersion, and density of states in dielectric multilayers and stepwise potential barriers with an arbitrary layer arrangement.

TL;DR: It is shown that the density of states (DOS) spectra of the multilayer or barrier in question are subject to integral conservation rules similar to the Barnett-Loudon sum rule but occurring within a finite frequency or energy interval.

Quantum waveguide theory of serial stub structures

TL;DR: In this article, a general theory of quantum waveguide based on transfer matrix method is developed and used to treat periodic stub structures, serial stub structures with a defect stub, and Fibonacci stub structures.

Numerical investigation of light-wave localization in optical Fibonacci superlattices with symmetric internal structure

TL;DR: In this paper, the optical transmission of one-dimensional binary quasiperiodic dielectric multilayers, which are arranged in Fibonacci sequences along two opposite directions and possess a mirror symmetry, was studied.

Demonstration of laser action in a pseudorandom medium

TL;DR: In this paper, localized optical lasing in localized optical resonances of deterministic aperiodic structures with pseudorandom morphologies has been demonstrated, where the localized lasing modes in two-dimensional arrays of air nanoholes in GaAs membranes occur at reproducible spatial locations.

Generalized fibonacci lattices - dynamic maps, energy-spectra and wave-functions

TL;DR: In this paper, the generalized Fibonacci lattices were studied using the dynamical system technique, for which the off-diagonal tight-binding model was employed, and the matrix and trace maps were obtained and investigated in a unified way.
