TLDR
An experiment to probe the (quasi)localization of the photon is proposed, in which optical layers are constructed following the Fibonacci sequence, which has scaling with respect to the number of layers, as well as an interesting fluctuation.
Abstract
An experiment to probe the (quasi)localization of the photon is proposed, in which optical layers are constructed following the Fibonacci sequence. The transmission coefficient has a rich structure as a function of the wavelength of light and, in fact, is multifractal. For particular wavelengths for which the resonance condition is satisfied, the light propagation has scaling with respect to the number of layers, as well as an interesting fluctuation.

Multi channel narrowband DWDM optical filters based on generalized aperiodic Thue-Morse structures

TL;DR: A multi channel narrow band DWDM filter based on aperiodic Thue-Morse multilayer structure is proposed and an ultra high efficiency is shown so that the total transmission of filter output channels up to 100% and the range of output wavelength is 1550 nm which is suitable for D WDM communication systems.

About optical localization in photonic quasicrystals

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors employed the two stage cut and project scheme to generate a dodecagonal two-dimensional quasiperiodic structure and applied the finite-differences-time-domain method to simulate the propagation of electromagnetic modes in the system.

Linear periodic and quasiperiodic anisotropic layered media with arbitrary orientation of optic axis—A numerical study

TL;DR: In this article, the linear properties of periodic and quasiperiodic anisotropic layered media are studied numerically and the general numerical code is applied to recover the known results for solc filters.

Complex photonic structures

TL;DR: In this paper, the optical properties of complex photonic structures, in particular those with a dominating disorder component, have been discussed, as well as their general transport properties and their use as light sources (random lasers).
