Localization of optics: Quasiperiodic media.
TLDR
An experiment to probe the (quasi)localization of the photon is proposed, in which optical layers are constructed following the Fibonacci sequence, which has scaling with respect to the number of layers, as well as an interesting fluctuation.Abstract:
An experiment to probe the (quasi)localization of the photon is proposed, in which optical layers are constructed following the Fibonacci sequence. The transmission coefficient has a rich structure as a function of the wavelength of light and, in fact, is multifractal. For particular wavelengths for which the resonance condition is satisfied, the light propagation has scaling with respect to the number of layers, as well as an interesting fluctuation.read more

Aperiodic lattices for tunable photonic bandgaps and localization
TL;DR: In this paper, a Fourier space-based inverse optimization algorithm was proposed to tailor the relative strength of the AL Fourier components for precise control of photonic band and localization properties.

Elastodynamical properties of Sturmian structured media
TL;DR: In this paper, a methodology based on Sturmian sequences for the generation of structured mechanical systems from a given parameter is proposed, which can be applied to waveguides of different nature, as long as they can be modeled with the transfer matrix method.

Quantum Transport And Its Scaling Properties in Thue-Morse Waveguides
TL;DR: In this paper, the quantum transport in Thue-Morse (TM) stub waveguides has been studied by using a transfer matrix method and it is demonstrated that the transmission coefficient and the energy spectrum have a rich structure dependent of the wave vector of electron and the number of the stubs.

Brewster Anomalies in Opaque Random Amorphous Multilayers a-Si:H/a-Si3N4+x:H
TL;DR: In this article, the disappearance of reflectance anomalies in random amorphous multilayers made with absorbent materials is investigated. But the authors focus on the incident angle of the light propagation at a certain incident angle.
