TLDR
An experiment to probe the (quasi)localization of the photon is proposed, in which optical layers are constructed following the Fibonacci sequence, which has scaling with respect to the number of layers, as well as an interesting fluctuation.
Abstract
An experiment to probe the (quasi)localization of the photon is proposed, in which optical layers are constructed following the Fibonacci sequence. The transmission coefficient has a rich structure as a function of the wavelength of light and, in fact, is multifractal. For particular wavelengths for which the resonance condition is satisfied, the light propagation has scaling with respect to the number of layers, as well as an interesting fluctuation.

Optical property of a quasi-periodic multilayer

TL;DR: In this paper, an optical property of a quasi-periodic multilayer constructed of two types of layer, A and B, is discussed, and it is shown that the transmission coefficient has, for the wavelength of light, many barriers where the transmission coefficients vanishes.

Design and fabrication of optical filters with very large stopband (≈500 nm) and small passband (1 nm) in silicon-on-insulator

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of changing the number of periods and thickness ratios of a photonic crystal filter structure with two alternating materials was investigated with a genetic algorithm (GA) and the results showed that the structure can be regarded as a high precision filter for optical communication and photonic integrated chip technologies.

Optical transmission through generalized Thue-Morse superlattices

TL;DR: In this paper, the transmission properties of light through generalized Thue-Morse (GTM (m, n)) aperiodic superlattices and obtain the formulae of the transmission coefficients (TCs) analytically at the central wavelength, which are confirmed by numerical simulations.

Scaling in the Optical Characteristics of Aperiodic Structures with Self-Similarity Symmetry

TL;DR: In this article, the properties of diffraction gratings and multilayered systems constructed using 1D models of quasicrystals are considered based on numerical simulation and the degree of structural correspondence between the graphical representations of the geometric properties of crystals, light diffraction patterns of gratings, and the transmission spectra of multi-layered systems is estimated.

Optical transmission through multicomponent Thue–Morse multilayers

TL;DR: In this paper, the optical transmission vertically through the CTM superlattice was studied and it was found that at the central wavelength, the indices of the propagation matrix elements (PMEs) are all related to the coefficients of Pascal Triangle, and the propagation matrices (PMs) and transmission coefficients (TCs) exhibit interesting pseudo-2 m -cycle and pseudo-m -cycle features, respectively.
