Nitric oxide formation and reburn in low-pressure methane flames

TL;DR: In this article, absolute NO concentrations were measured in low-pressure methane-oxygen-nitrogen flames of varying stoichiometry, using laser-induced fluorescence, and combined with previously measured absolute CH radical concentrations to test the chemical mechanism of prompt NO formation and NO reburn.
Journal ArticleDOI

Fluid boundary layer effects in atmospheric-pressure plasma diamond film deposition

TL;DR: A numerical model was developed, which calculated two-dimensional reactor temperature and velocity, distributions, and the chemical kinetics in the boundary layer as mentioned in this paper, indicating that under the experimental conditions argon addition reduced the thickness of the hydrogen nonequilibrium boundary layer from 3.5 to 1.0 mm.

Effect of compression ratio on combustion and emission characteristics of C.I. Engine operated with acetylene in conjunction with diesel fuel

TL;DR: In this article, a single cylinder, four stroke, direct injection, vertical, water cooled, variable compression ratio, multi fuel engine was used to operate in dual fuel mode and the results were evaluated and compared on the basis of combustion, performance and emission parameters.
