Development of conducting polychloroprene rubber using imidazolium based ionic liquid modified multi-walled carbon nanotubes
TL;DR: In this paper, a simplified and an eco-friendly approach to develop polychloroprene rubber composites with high electrical conductivity is reported, where room temperature ionic liquid, 1-butyl 3-methyl imidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulphonyl)imide and a low concentration (5-phr) of commercial grade multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were used.

Nucleophilic-alkylation-reoxidation: a functionalization sequence for single-wall carbon nanotubes.
Ralf Graupner,Jürgen Abraham,D. Wunderlich,Andrea Vencelová,Peter Lauffer,Jonas Röhrl,Martin Hundhausen,Lothar Ley,Andreas Hirsch +8 more
TL;DR: A new reaction sequence for the chemical functionalization of single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) consisting of the nucleophilic addition of t-BuLi to the sidewalls of the tubes and the subsequent reoxidation of the intermediates t-bu(n)SWNT(n-) leading to t- Bu(n), which exhibits a significant reduction in the pi-derived density of states.

Raman Spectrum of Graphite
F. Tuinstra,J. L. Koenig +1 more
TL;DR: Raman spectra are reported from single crystals of graphite and other graphite materials as mentioned in this paper, and the Raman intensity of this band is inversely proportional to the crystallite size and is caused by a breakdown of the k-selection rule.

Band gap fluorescence from individual single-walled carbon nanotubes.
Michael J. O'Connell,Sergei M. Bachilo,Chad B. Huffman,Valerie C. Moore,Michael S. Strano,Erik H. Haroz,Kristy L. Rialon,Peter J. Boul,William H. Noon,Carter Kittrell,Jianpeng Ma,Jianpeng Ma,Robert H. Hauge,R. Bruce Weisman,Richard E. Smalley +14 more
TL;DR: At pH less than 5, the absorption and emission spectra of individual nanotubes show evidence of band gap–selective protonation of the side walls of the tube, which is readily reversed by treatment with base or ultraviolet light.

Unusually High Thermal Conductivity of Carbon Nanotubes
TL;DR: An unusually high value, lambda approximately 6600 W/m K, is suggested for an isolated (10,10) nanotube at room temperature, comparable to the thermal conductivity of a hypothetical isolated graphene monolayer or diamond.
