In this paper, an efficient method is given to reconstruct the current profile parameters, the plasma shape, and a current profile consistent with the magnetohydrodynamic equilibrium constraint from external magnetic measurements, based on a Picard iteration approach.Abstract:
An efficient method is given to reconstruct the current profile parameters, the plasma shape, and a current profile consistent with the magnetohydrodynamic equilibrium constraint from external magnetic measurements, based on a Picard iteration approach which approximately conserves the measurements. Computational efforts are reduced by parametrizing the current profile linearly in terms of a number of physical parameters. Results of detailed comparative calculations and a sensitivity study are described. Illustrative calculations to reconstruct the current profiles and plasma shapes in ohmically and auxiliarily heated Doublet III plasmas are given which show many interesting features of the current profiles.read more

High spatial resolution equilibrium reconstruction
TL;DR: In this paper, the extension of the EFIT equilibrium reconstruction code to fine spatial-grid resolutions is discussed and the residue in the force-balance relation of the Grad?Shafranov (G?S) equation and the convergence property of these fine spatialgrid EFIT equilibria are studied in detail.

A Linux cluster for between-pulse magnetic equilibrium reconstructions and other processor bound analyses
TL;DR: A 12-processor Linux PC cluster has been installed to perform between-pulse magnetic equilibrium reconstructions during tokamak operations using the EFIT code written in FORTRAN, yielding a complete equilibrium time history on a 25 ms time scale 4 min after the pulse ends.
