In this paper, an efficient method is given to reconstruct the current profile parameters, the plasma shape, and a current profile consistent with the magnetohydrodynamic equilibrium constraint from external magnetic measurements, based on a Picard iteration approach.Abstract:
An efficient method is given to reconstruct the current profile parameters, the plasma shape, and a current profile consistent with the magnetohydrodynamic equilibrium constraint from external magnetic measurements, based on a Picard iteration approach which approximately conserves the measurements. Computational efforts are reduced by parametrizing the current profile linearly in terms of a number of physical parameters. Results of detailed comparative calculations and a sensitivity study are described. Illustrative calculations to reconstruct the current profiles and plasma shapes in ohmically and auxiliarily heated Doublet III plasmas are given which show many interesting features of the current profiles.read more

TL;DR: In this paper, a high-resolution x-ray spectroscopy on Alcator C-Mod. was performed, where the rotation in the inner plasma (r/a≤0.3) responds to the rf power more quickly than that of the outer region (r /a≥0.7), and the rotation profile is broadly peaked for r/a ≥ 0.5.

TL;DR: The divertor of the Alcator C−Mod tokamak [Phys. as discussed by the authors ] routinely radiates a large fraction of the power entering the scrape-off layer, and large volumetric radiative emissivities have been measured using bolometer arrays.

Extended MHD simulation of resonant magnetic perturbations
TL;DR: In this article, the rotational flow effects, along with the remnants of the screened RMP, cause a density loss which extends into the plasma core, and the magnetic field becomes stochastic in the outer part of the plasma, causing density and temperature loss.
