Echocardiographic findings in systemic amyloidosis: Spectrum of cardiac involvement and relation to survival

TL;DR: Echocardiographic examination is an important tool for establishing the presence of cardiac amyloid involvement and may be useful in estimating prognosis in such patients.
Journal ArticleDOI

Pharmacologic and Hemodynamic Influences on the Rate of Isovolumic Left Ventricular Relaxation in the Normal Conscious Dog

TL;DR: It is concluded that positive inotropic interventions augment both left ventricular contraction and relaxation and are independent of alterations in sympathetic tone produced by beta-adrenergic blockade.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dose-effect and structure-function relationships in doxorubicin cardiomyopathy.

TL;DR: Morphologic damage was variable but was proportional to the total cumulative DXR dose between 100 and 600 mg/m2, and performance abnormalities correlated weakly with dose, exhibited a curvilinear relationship, and had a "threshold" for expression.
Journal ArticleDOI

The nitrogen economy of winter wheat

TL;DR: The results show that it should be easier for breeders to select for high nitrogen uptake from among heavy than from among light genotypes, and although dwarf genotypes tended to be light, none of the correlations found was strong enough to render it impossible to produce dwarf genotype capable of giving high yields of high-protein grain.
Journal ArticleDOI

Colonization, Ecology, and Population Structure of the "Quagga'' Mussel (Bivalvia: Dreissenidae) in the Lower Great Lakes

TL;DR: An invasive dreissenid mussel given the working name of "quagga" has a present (spring 1993) distribution in the Laurentian Great Lakes from the western basin of Lake Erie to Quebec City.
