Journal ArticleDOI

The role of insulin and glucagon in the regulation of basal glucose production in the postabsorptive dog.

TL;DR: In this paper, the role of insulin and glucagon in the regulation of basal glucose production in dogs fasted overnight was investigated and it was shown that insulin deficiency resulted in a 52+/-16% (P less than 0.01) increase in the rate of glucose production which was abolished when the insulin level was restored.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cladribine in treatment of chronic progressive multiple sclerosis

TL;DR: It is concluded that the immunosuppressive drug cladribine influences favourably the course of chronic progressive MS.
Journal ArticleDOI

Diagnosis of Diabetic Eye Disease

TL;DR: It is concluded that potentially serious mistakes in diagnosis are currently made by the physicians who care for most diabetic patients, and further education or greater use of referrals may be necessary to provide optimal patient care.
Journal ArticleDOI

Neonatal mortality from in utero exposure to perfluorooctanesulfonate (PFOS) in Sprague-Dawley rats: dose-response, and biochemical and pharamacokinetic parameters.

TL;DR: Results suggest that dam and corresponding fetal body burdens, as indicated by serum and liver PFOS levels, correlate with neonatal survival and suggest that late-stage fetal development may be affected in pups exposed to PFOS in utero and may contribute to the observed mortality.
Journal ArticleDOI

A new method of scoring coronary angiograms to reflect extent of coronary atherosclerosis and improve correlation with major risk factors.

TL;DR: A new angiographic score that assesses the extent of coronary disease is simple to perform and correlates better with age and lipoprotein risk factors than conventional scores do.
