Effects of Hemorrhage on Regional Blood Flow Distribution in Dogs and Primates
TL;DR: The peripheral vascular responses to hemorrhage involve intense vasoconstriction in the mesenteric and iliac beds, and in the normal conscious dog and intact, tranquilized primate, the renal bed does not share in the augmentation of total peripheral resistance with nonhypotensive and moderate hypotensive hemorrhage, but does with more severe hemorrhage.
Journal ArticleDOI
NMDA receptor agonist and antagonists alter retinal ganglion cell arbor structure in the developing frog retinotectal projection
TL;DR: The data support a specific hypothesis for NMDA receptor involvement in the activity-dependent structural refinement process within the developing retinotectal projection of tadpoles and young postmetamorphic frogs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Leaf litter selection by detritivore and geophagous earthworms
TL;DR: The disappearance of litter after 50–52 days appeared to be due to detritivore activity, since the numbers found below the litter were positively and significantly correlated with the litter disappearance, which indicates thatdetritivores use litter as food, and therefore influence the composition of the litter layer.
