Journal ArticleDOI
Biochemical evidence for the 5-HT agonist properties of PAT (8-hydroxy-2-(di-n-propylamino)tetralin) in the rat brain.
Michel Hamon,Sylvie Bourgoin,H. Gozlan,Martin D. Hall,Christopher Goetz,F. Artaud,Alan S. Horn +6 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that PAT is a potent 5-HT agonist acting on both post- and presynaptic 5- HT receptors in the rat brain.
Journal ArticleDOI
Detection of carriers of classic hemophilia using an immunologic assay for antihemophilic factor (factor VIII)
TL;DR: The relation between functional antihemophilic factor activity and AHF-like antigen was studied in the plasma of 25 known carriers of hemophilia, and the data are consistent with the hypothesis that the proportion of antigen to AHF activity in carriers is determined by random activation or inactivation of the X chromosome.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effects of pharmacological agents upon a transgenic model of Parkinson's disease in Drosophila melanogaster.
TL;DR: A behavioral study demonstrates the utility of this model in studying Parkinson's disease and reinforces the concept that inhibition of the action of alpha-synuclein may be useful in its treatment as may dopamine D(1) receptor agonists.
Journal ArticleDOI
A multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study of efficacy and safety of 3 doses of botulinum toxin A in the treatment of glabellar lines.
Benjamin Ascher,Benjamin Zakine,Philippe Kestemont,Martine Baspeyras,Ali Bougara,José Santini +5 more
TL;DR: BTX-A is an effective and safe treatment for glabellar lines and investigator and patient evaluations suggested that 50 U was the optimal dose.
Journal ArticleDOI
Timing of activity in cerebellar dentate nucleus and cerebral motor cortex during prompt volitional movement
TL;DR: The discharge of neurons in cerebellar dentate nucleus and cerebral motor cortex was recorded in 3 monkeys in association with prompt arm movement in response to a light signal to computed the time of change of each neuron in relation to arm movement.
