The abrasive and erosive wear of polymeric paint films

TL;DR: In this paper, two wear tests were used to assess the wear resistance of six different 20-70 μm thick polymer coatings on both galvanized steel and polymeric substrates.

Molecular wear of microtubules propelled by surface-adhered kinesins

TL;DR: It is shown that wear also occurs in an in vitro system consisting of microtubules gliding across a surface coated with kinesin-1 motor proteins, and that energetic considerations suggest a molecule-by-molecule removal of tubulin proteins.

Erosion-corrosion of coatings by biomass-fired boiler fly ash

Bu-Qian Wang
- 01 Sep 1995 -
TL;DR: In this article, a fly ash from a biomass-fired boiler was used as an erosion-corrosion tester for two steels (AISI 1018 low carbon steel, Type 304 stainless steel).

The slurry erosion behaviour of high velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) sprayed aluminium bronze coatings

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the erosion aspects of a novel high velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) sprayed aluminium bronze coating under sand particle impingement conditions, using a free-jet impeding erosion rig.

Tribocorrosion study of martensitic and austenitic stainless steels in 0.01 M NaCl solution

TL;DR: In this paper, the results from tribocorrosion tests revealed that, as compared to pure corrosion, open circuit potential of the materials under the applied load shifted towards negative direction and the measured current density correspondingly increased.
